TGIF; Thankful Friday #203

Happy Friday and the last one for 2021!

I have so much to be thankful for and for this last one of 2021, I am thankful for the use of both hands. I’m still recovering and my right hand is still not 100% but I’m strengthening it and it feels so good!

Our holidays were fabulous with family both on Christmas Eve and Christmas Day. I hope that you all were able to enjoy yourselves as well.

Let me know what you’re thankful for by leaving a comment below.

Happy New Year!

Sunshine Layout

It seems like a long time since I worked on a scrapbook page! I am getting used to working with one hand and I knew I was getting more and more behind on my layouts so I was determined to work on a layout.

I’m part of a group on FB that posts sketches so I used one of them for this layout.

I had multiple photos that I wanted to use so I used a flip flap so I could use them all. I love these photos of my granddaughters just soaking up the sun.

Since the blanket had a tropical feel, I used a tropical themed paper pad. The title was cut with the Cricut. Check out the YouTube video/process video below:
Since I planned on using my Cricut for the embellishments, I emulated the layout on the canvas in Design Space so I could get the sizes correct. When it was time to cut the images, I removed the 12x12 square and all three 3.75x6” rectangles since I didn’t need those. I also added an offset to the title. All these images are available free with Cricut Access.
You’ll see in the video that I gutted the patterned paper base in order to add the black mat. The black piece is cut to 10.5x10.5. I gutted the patterned paper at 1.25" on each side.

Personalized Gifts

If you have an unique name or one that is spelled a little different, you know what I mean when I say, “I dislike personalized items!”

Growing up my sisters were able to get their cute little magnets and jewelry with their name but not me. Anyhow, I figured my DIL’s little sis has the same problem.

I made this Starbucks cup just for her! This was the only creative item I was able to make this year and she loved it!

I got the free Minnie SVG from OvalerySVG. Check them out, they have tons of great SVG files and bundles and many are free!

BBTB2 Challenge; Any Holiday

It's December 20th, are you ready for the holidays? I am for the most part and this project for the Bitten By The Bug 2 (BBTB2) Cricut challenge site is taking me one step closer! The challenge this time is...anything holiday!

I decided to create this gift tag of Olaf the snowman from Frozen. I got this free SVG cut file from Ovalery They have so many great cut files and many of them are free!

I sized Olaf at 6.5" and also cut a tag from the shapes in Design Space to accommodate him. I added some Stickles to add some shimmer!

I think he looks perfect with this plain black gift bag!

Now it's your turn, create a holiday project using your Cricut and link it at the BBTB2 site.

12 Days of Christmas Tags 2021 Series; Day 12

Here it is…the last day of 2021 Twelve Days of Christmas Tags!

I used the Cricut to cut these “tear away” tags. I got the SVG from Jennifer Maker’s website. She provides lots of great instructions and free SVGs on there.
I used two different stamps for each tag. Both stamp sets are from Fun Stampers Journey (Spellbinders).
Then punched out circles for the hole re-enforcers, some yarn & beads and jingle bells to finish them off!

Before the top and bottom of the tags are adhered, be sure to write the name of the recipient on the designated area. How fun are these?

I used a sheet of paper that has a full sheet of 4x6 cut-a-parts to make them so they have a collage look. I love it!

Be sure to leave a comment for an entry in the 12 tags giveaway. I’ll draw a name by the end of the week. Good luck!

12 Days of Christmas Tags 2021; Day Eleven

Day 11 of the 12 Days of Christmas Tags series was made by creating an envelope using a punch board.

I filmed a video which you can check out here:

The papers were scraps from my tag container which I use to keep Christmas scraps and things in.
The stickers were perfect for these envelopes and look at the back!
So cute, right?!

12 Days of Christmas Tags 2021; Day Ten

Day 10 of the 12 Days of Christmas Tags series were made using both the Cricut and a tree punch. The tag base was made by combining a triangle and square from basic shapes in the Cricut. I welded them together and the cut them out.
I then sliced the tag in half to cut the top layer.
I added holiday washi between the two layers before adhering the punched trees. They are popped up with 3D adhesive.
Stamped the to &from and they’re done.

12 Days of Christmas Tags 2021;Day 9

Day Nine and I’m super excited to show you these tags! They went through many changes before I decided they were done. I have a Christmas bulb punch and I punched out a bunch of lights using scraps. I cut strips of white cardstock (1.25x5.5) and then decided the bulb color order - I figured it would be easier to make them all the same.

Then I inked the strips using a finger dauber and various ink pads.
After that I used a black marker to draw the cord to hold the lights and adhered the bulbs. I selected one on each strip to be raised up with dimensional adhesive.
Used a white pen and Stickles to highlight them.
Handwrote the “to and from” using the same marker.
And here’s what I love…I thought they were still missing something so I punched more bulbs in black and cut the bottom half - adhered the tops to each bulb. Aren’t they fabulous?!?

12 Days of Christmas Tags 2021;Day 8

Hey there! I’m so happy that I am able to keep up with the tags series. Although my right hand is still in the brace and I am experiencing pain, I can tell it’s getting better and I’m getting pretty good using my left hand!

Tag #8 was made using the Cricut. I searched for 3D bows and then made them my own by adding the black strip and the tab in the back. These are so cute!

I used a black marker & glitter marker to make the yellow piece into a buckle. You can tell I used my left hand since the rectangle is pretty bad, ha ha ha! But I’m ok with them!

Be sure to leave a comment as an entry for the giveaway at the end of the series. The name picked  will win one each of the 12 tags.

TGIF; Thankful Friday #202

Hello Friday! Since I’ve been home on disability, the days all seem the same. This week I’m thankful for the holiday season, decorating and seasonal traditions. Last Friday, the girls decided to drive around our town to look at all the outdoor decorations. We have a contest in our town and the addresses of those entered are in our local paper.  So fun!

And tgen my granddaughter was in the parade so we did that on Saturday.

What are you thankful for this week? Share in the comments below!

12 Days of Christmas Tags 2021; Day Seven

Day Seven of the 12 days of Christmas tags series had me breaking out some punches. I created these Santas before so I knew I could make them with one hand and use scraps!

They are so easy to put together!
I used three punches, 1” and 1/2” circles, scalloped circle, and the oval was cut with a Creative Memories oval cutter.
The noses were popped up with dimensional adhesive & the eyes were just drawn on with a black pen.
I added some music paper and a strip of washi tape to the tag base before adhering Santa-also with dimensional adhesive. Simple and so cute!

12 Days of Christmas Tags 2021; Day Six

Day Six of the series and I’m managing to stay with the schedule!
I used two thin stamps and some label stickers to create today’s tags.
These labels were printed on a full page sticker sheet. I love the non-Christmas colors!
I used this tag punch board to create the tag shapes on the pieces of card stock.
Added some eyelets to the top of each of them using the crop-a-dile. It’s surprising what you can do with one hand!
I used chalk pencils and Stickles to color the stamped images. Super easy and cute!

12 Days of Christmas Tags 2021; Day 5

I used the Cricut for the tags for day five. I saw these in Design Space but made them my own by adding some white pen marks and a sentiment stacked on some punched labels.

I also inked each tree to give them some dimension. These open up to put the to/from or any other note.

Be sure to leave a comment here, previous tag posts and the remaining eight posts for this series. Each comment is an entry for the series ending giveaway.

One person will win a set of one each of the 12 tags. Good luck!

12 Days of Christmas Tags; Day 4

On day four of the 12 Days of Christmas Tags series, I channelled my inner Heidi Swapp and created a stamp cluster.

And I created these:

Ok, I know it's only Day 4, but these are my favs so far! I made a video while I created these. I basically combined a variety of stamps and colors and created a stamped collage. I love how these turned out! Watch it here:

Don't forget to leave a comment to be entered in the giveaway at the end of the series. One winner will receive a set of one of each 12 tags.
