What To Do With All Those Gel Prints?!

Do you gel print? If you do, you know exactly what I mean, when I ask, "What do I do with all these gel prints?" If you follow any of my social media channels, you know I use many for my Junk Journal, mixed media projects and even cards, but I still have so many!

As you know I host a Monthly Card Kit and when I package them, I use flat bags. I normally make these bags using a large roll of white and/or kraft butcher paper. Once I create the bags, I then decorate them. I was getting ready to do that when I thought, "hey, I'm going to use some gel prints!"

I have so many and need to use them! So here you go!

I created a video if you'd like to check it out:

Triangle Pocket Fold Card/Gift Card Holder; November MCK

I was unable to go LIVE for November's Monthly Card Kit but I filmed the process to create the cards. These are cute cards just ready to assemble and hand out to someone. Each kit includes everything you need to create these cards, written instructions with cutting guide & measurements and the FaceBook LIVE event where we create the featured card together. If we finish early, we'll make the second card as well.

I designed the cards using products in my stash and the Cricut for the dies. The cute holiday creatures were from The Bearded Housewife as a free file. Be sure to click over to that site for many cute products!

For step by step instructions on how to put the card together, check out the YouTube process video below. The flat image elf is made into a layered piece but using three same images and cutting and stacking specific items from them. Check out the video for more details:

Here are so photos of all three cards.

LTCCB; Christmas Gift Card Holder Card

November 1st and time for a new challenge at the Love To Craft Challenge Blog. This challenge blog accepts all types of projects and the theme is always Anything Goes. This month I decided to show off a gift card holder card that is perfect for the holidays.

This is a pretty simple card and all the elements were cut from Cricut Design Space. I added clear diamond glaze to the cookies for 3D effect and then dusted them with fine glitter while the glaze was still wet. I love the look!

You can use this same card for any holidays or reasons to give a gift card. The pocket can also be used just for a note.

Be sure to click over to the LTCCB to link your crafty project before the end of the challenge period. This challenge runs from November 1st - December 15.

Angled Gate Card; MCK October

I"ve been seeing these angled gate cards around a lot so I thought I'd make these for the October, 2022, Monthly Card Kit (MCK). This is the complement card and not the one we'll make together during the FaceBook LIVE Event on the last Tuesday of the month.

If you want to see the featured card, check out the Monthly Card Kit tab from the Home Page.

These cards are pretty simple to make but are oh so pretty and fun! The card base is 5.5x11 scored at 3 1/8 and 7 5/8 on the 11" side. Then you mark down 1.5" from the top left and top right sides of the card as well as 1" from the both sides of the bottom edge. See the photo below and also check out the YouTube process video for clarification.

Once you slice off those 'triangles', you'll have your card base. The patterned papers will also be cut that way from two 3 1/8x5 1/4” pieces.

You can use the leftover strip of cardstock (after you cut the 8.5x11" cardstock into 5.5x11") to cut 1.5 x 11" strip to use for the band.

All cuts were on Cricut Design Space and the patterned papers are from the Main Street collection from Quick Quotes.

I love this rustic paper because it gives it a masculine look but those colors work well for anyone.

I realize that I don't make many masculine cards and I need to do that more often.

What do you think? Pretty cool, right?

Fruity Rocker Card; CutCardStock

Check out this fun fruity rocking card I made! I have seen these cards before but never tried to make one myself. You can make them any size but I chose to make mine so it'd fit in a regular A2 envelope.

The fruit and scalloped circle were cut using my Cricut. The design was already available in Design Space as a pop up card but I only wanted the fruit bundle.

Using multiple colors from CutCardStock Pop Tone and Basis, I was able to create a fun and bright bundle of fruit!  See the list of colors below.  If you click on my affiliate link, I get a small commission for all purchases.

Figuring out the placement of all the cut pieces:

To create the rocking base, you basically fold a circle in half and then decorate! Yup, that easy!  I used a white base since there was so much color with the fruit and scalloped circle. The scalloped circle is 5" and the circle is 5.5". You can fold the scalloped circle to decorate both the front and back but I decided to cut mine in half and only adhere it to the front since I am adding an easel to the inside.

White pen was used to add highlights to some areas and I popped up the sentiment using foam adhesive.

The important things to remember is the placement of the decorative elements - you don't want it to exceed the 4.25" height in order to fit in the envelope and to keep the card balanced. In other words, don't put too many elements on one side of the card.

Now, you can either put your sentiment and greeting inside the card or create an easel for the inside and writing the sentiment & greeting to the back like I did.

Not sure what I mean? Check out the process video:

I did decide to use this card for my Monthly Card Kit. To read more about the card kit, click HERE or on the Monthly Card Kit tab on the home page.

LTCCB; November Challenge

November's here and it's time for another challenge at the Love To Craft Challenge Blog. The challenge theme is...Anything Goes. Click over to the challenge blog, get inspired by the DT projects and link your own project!

I made this fun card inspired by my monthly card kit and knew I needed to share it here.

This is called a floating card and it's so easy to make. I have a confession...the "acetate" needed for this card was a cut down face shield!

The small print is actually a photo of another project that I made. I ordered these super small sized photos to add to cards. Pretty neat, huh?

Now it's your turn, create something...anything...and link it to the LTCCB before the end of the month.

TGIF; Thankful Friday #179

Happy TGIF; Thankful Friday and a kick off to a three day weekend! With that being said, this week I'm thankful for this upcoming three day weekend! I know I sound like a broken record, but it has been a week! We had a birthday dinner on Saturday, a spontaneous trip to the beach on Sunday and then some travel to and from the Bay Area on Monday, Tuesday was the Monthly Card Kit Live FB Event - man, I've been exhausted all week!

This getting old thing is no fun but it's better than the alternative. Enjoy your Memorial Day weekend!

Here's the recap of the live event if you're interested:

BBTB2 Challenge; Graduation

The newest challenge at the Bitten By The Bug 2 Cricut challenge site is...graduation! Perfect for this time of the year. I created this fun step pop up card and used a "Hats Off" sentiment for the main image. For the life of me, I can't remember where I purchased this SVG.

Isn't this a fun card! I used a black/white color scheme so it could be used for any graduate. The tassel is white and can be colored if needed. I also cut skinny strips of acetate to adhere floating stars to the card. So cool!

Your turn...create a graduation project using your Cricut and link it to the BBTB2 blog.

I created this card for my Monthly Card Kit for the month of May. If you want more information regarding the Monthly Card Kit, click HERE. I do a Facebook LIVE event to make the featured card and then you can refer back to the video to help you make the second card on your own. I'm having a blast with this monthly LIVE event.

Monthly Card Kit; April 2021 Half Card

The card for April is a half card. I've wanted to make this style card for awhile so I was glad to choose this one for the FIRST official card of the Monthly Card Kit!

I love this card! I love the colors and those flowers and the bling!

Remember, everything you need to complete this card is included in the Monthly Card Kit for April, 2021 with the exception of standard adhesive and a basic tool kit (like scissors, bone folder, ruler, paper trimmer, etc.)

Be sure to contact me before the April 12th deadline with payment and delivery information. The Monthly Card Kit is $15/month and includes all the products needed to make the featured card PLUS an extra set of the same card type but with a different theme, color scheme and so on. Here are pictures of the second card.

You also receive printed instructions as well as the link to the live event where we'll work on the featured card together! I hope to see you there!

TGIF; Thankful Friday #172

I did it! I held my first Facebook Live event for the Monthly Card Kit I'm starting. I held it with a small test group and it was so much fun! There were some surprises but nothing that took away from the event. This leads me to what I'm thankful for this week.

I'm thankful for my daughter, Carly, who was moderating the chat/comments while creating the card as well. I'm thankful for my sisters, daughter-in-law, cousin and friends that joined in and left me feeling a bit high that night. I had a hard time falling asleep - I was riding the natural high. LOL

I added the sliced version of the event on Youtube but you can view the entire video on the Three Sons And A Star Facebook page. You can find the links HERE and HERE.

If you're interested in the monthly club, click on the Monthly Club Kit tab from the home page or leave me a comment and I'll send you more info. You can also like the Three Sons And A Star FB page and watch for announcements!

Have a fabulous weekend and Happy Easter!

Monthly Card Kit Announcement!

I'm excited to announce that I will be starting a Monthly Card Kit in April!

What does that mean?
At the beginning of each month, I will show off the featured card for that month on all social media platforms (check the Monthly Card Kit tab on my blog) & then take orders & payment by a mid-month deadline. For $15/mo, you will receive all the products needed for that particular card* PLUS an extra set to make on your own. The second set will be the same card type, but with different colors, paper, theme, etc.

Within the kit, you'll receive typed instructions with measurements, score guide & step by step instructions to complete the card type. But wait, there's more...I'll also hold a Facebook Live event where we create the featured card together. You'll be able to ask questions, get answers, hang out and have fun.

If you cannot make the live event, you can refer to the instruction sheet or view the recording on FB and (hopefully) shortly after via my YouTube channel.

The event will be scheduled on the last Tuesday of each month at 7:00 PST. Plan for at least an hour. Don't worry, all this information will be included to you once the kit is purchased.

*You will need to provide your own adhesive and any basic tools like scissors, ruler, etc.

I’m nervous, as you can imagine, doing a live event but also excited.  Do you want to be a part of my first live event? What do you think?  Are you game?  It’ll be a fun way to gather without actually gathering.

Be sure to check back the first week in April to see the first featured card!

I'm looking forward to creating with you!
