Bash Your Stash; (Nature) Stamps Part II

I made more cards using the stamps from my “Nature” drawer. I wasn’t too sure about the lily pond stamp, but after playing with it, I did decide to keep it.

Here they are:
Watercolor markers & water brush
Two background stamps & heart punch
Baby wipe technique

Now there’s plenty of room in the drawer to see exactly what I have!

There are a lot of stamps that I didn’t play with this time, but I have used them before and knew I wanted to keep them.

The next stamp drawer that I’m going to play with is “Animals”. This is going to be a tough one but I do need to weed through it. Even though they are so cute, I rarely use them.

If you are looking for a particular animal stamp (especially a dog breed), let me know. I’d love to gift one to someone who will use it.

Also, remember if you would like me to send you a handmade card as part of my 2020 Goal, let me know.  If that card will be one that you send out to someone else, I can leave the inside blank. Send me an email which you can find under the “Contact Me” tab from the homepage.

BBTB2 Challenge; Flowers

Hey there, I’m hosting the current challenge on the Bitten By The Bug 2 (BBTB2) site. The challenges last for two weeks and I hope you join us. The current challenge theme is...flowers!

I do not have a green thumb at all so the idea of "growing" flowers using my Cricut is one that I can do!
I decided to make a Congratulations card for my coworker (first time grandmother) with a pop up flower. I got the idea, SVG and instructions on the A Piece of Rainbow website. Even though the project is simple, I highly recommend watching the video.

Tip: All flower pieces come in as one image. Ungroup and then select each piece and group (there are tiny cut lines on each flower and they are separated if you don’t group them). Once you do that, select all of the pieces and group again. The reason why I regrouped is so when I sized the largest flower piece, they would all cut out to size. I hope that makes sense.

I adjusted the flower size to fit both a standard A2 card. Isn’t this so fun? I can’t wait to give it to her. The baby isn’t due until May.

Here’s the front of the card but the best part is the inside! I also used my Cricut to cut the scalloped circle for the “congratulations”.

Now it's your turn...create a flower project and link it to the BBTB2 site and please let us know how you used your Cricut or what cut you used.

Single Page Layout; Award Ceremony

I created this one page 12x12 layout using embellishments from Dear Lizzy It’s All Good collection.

When I saw this collection, I knew I had to have it all! I even bought extra sheets of this paper:
Don’t you love those hand signs?

See the YouTube video as I’m putting the layout together. Once I selected the color scheme, the rest was easy to put together.

We are so proud of our daughter for winning After School Program Leader of the Year for our county. She deserved it!

Majority of the embellishments are from the Dear Lizzy collection. The felt flowers are from Queen & Co., and the other random stickers are from my stash. The title was cut using various fonts on the Cricut.

TGIF; Thankful Friday #127

Happy Thankful Friday! This week I’m thankful for Zoom, Webex, FaceTime, etc. My Book Club met yesterday via Zoom and it was pretty cool! I mean modern technology, right? Even though we are all staying home and sheltering in place, we still get to hang out and see our friends & family.

I hope that you are all staying safe and healthy and adjusting to this new norm. I ordered a collection of wine through TravelingVineyard and will be doing a wine tasting event at home with my family - I’m normally not a huge wine drinker, but hey, what the heck, right?!? I’ll let you know how it goes.

Your turn, what are you thankful for this week? Share in the comments.

WOYWW #568

Hello and happy Wednesday! It’s that time of the week where I get to share my work space on Stamping Ground

My desk this morning:
I’ve been trying to clear off my work area after every project. I really need to do something about the stragglers, but they just seem to grow on their own (like weeds).

Click on over to Julia’s blog Stamping Ground and check out other desks!

Happy week.

Bash Your Stash; (Nature) Stamps

Since I have extra time in The Command Center, I have decided to do a Bash Your Stash series. What this means to me is this:
I have so many stamps that I don’t even remember or know what I have. Some I purchased, some were freebies and some were gifted (read about Rubber Paws Here). With that being said, I’m going to go through my stamps, one drawer at a time. By going through these drawers, I’m going to use these stamps for some sort of project and then decide if I want to keep them or give them away.

This first post is going through my Nature stamp drawer (they are at least organized by category). Here are some cards using some of the stamps:
 Black/white card
Gelli print background & markers to color the stamped image
Using an acrylic block as a stamp
Circle mask & acrylic block as a stamp
Ink blending w/three ink pads in a circular motion
Mixed media background

I did move many to the give away pile which left room to organize a little better. I also stamped each one that I’m keeping on a piece of copy paper so I can index what I have in this drawer.

I hope you stayed tuned for more posts on this new series.

If you are interested in receiving a handmade card from me, send me an email which you can find in the “contact me” tab on the homepage.

Virtual Crop Scrapbooking Weekend

I joined a virtual crop this weekend and got a lot done. I’m still behind on my scrapbooking but finally got Daisy (my newest granddaughter) in there. Well, at least the gender reveal...I’m getting close!

Here are my layouts for Friday and Saturday:

 And a card:
I completed another layout but I’ll show it later.

I hope you’re able to work on some crafty projects too. I have one more day of the crop and am starting on our Grand Canyon trip.

I also started watching Schitt’s Creek. I’ve heard good things about it, so why not? So far I like it and I already watched all of Season One.

TGIF; Thankful Friday #126

TGIF; Thankful Friday to you! I actually had to go into work this week and I am thankful for that. It was nice seeing a few coworkers, actually getting ready to go somewhere and being on a routine. I’ll be back to the “work remotely routine” until the week of May 11th.

What are you thankful for this week? What are your new norms and are you doing ok?

Let me know in the comments.

Until next week!

Here are some photos of a cactus rock garden the females in my household painted and put together.

I should have tossed this old rusted baking pan out but knew I’d find a use for it. It is perfect for filling up items from the Command Center to bring downstairs in one trip! If it gets banged up or paint on it, it’s ok! The rusted pan gives it some character.

WOYWW #567

Happy WOYWW! Good day deskers and everyone else taking a peek into my craft room today. This week is my turn to go into the office so I’m not as busy in the Command Center as I have been. I decided that I need to work on more scrapbooking since I’m still way behind. Here’s a shot of my desk as I was messing around with my Cricut trying to come up with an overlay for a page.

I saw something similar on Pinterest and figured I could make my own. I’m sorting through my photos to figure out which one I’ll use with it.

Otherwise my desk is pretty clear.

Click on over to Stamping Ground to read all about WOYWW and see other desks.

A big shout out to those deskers who have been affected by the COVID virus and are healing. We are all good here in my household. Our new norms have changed and we’re getting used to it. I’m happy to be back in the office for a few days, but it is strange seeing people in masks.

I hope all is well and see you all next Wednesday for another peek!

BBTB2; Let’s Get Outdoors Challenge

The current challenge at Bitten By The Bug 2 (BBTB2)is Let’s Get Outdoors!

I decided to put HTV on this cute baseball cap for my granddaughter.

I filmed a quick video of how it was done using the Cricut Mini Press, HTV and the Mickey & Friends cartridge.
Isn’t it adorable! I can’t wait for the sun to come out so she can wear it.

Now it’s your turn...link up your Let’s Get Outdoors project and be sure to let us know how you used your Cricut. Click on over to the Bitten By The Bug (BBTB2) blog.

TGIF; Thankful Friday #125

Is it Friday? Wow, these days are rolling into one and the only thing that makes this Friday different is that it’s Good Friday.

This week I am thankful for our big house. We have a two story home with plenty of room for all of us to have our own space for our on-line meetings, classes and conversations.

If the weather would cooperate, we could even use the stage (Le LEAF) if needed.

I hope you are finding things to be thankful for as we continue to be in our homes and Sheltering in Place. Let me know in the comments what your are thankful for this week or better yet, what are you’re new norms during this time.

Take care!

2020 Goal Update; Weeks 7-14

Hey there!
My 2020 New Year Goal is coming along. I made a goal for myself to send at least one card a week and so far so good.

As promised, I actually took photos of each card before I mailed them.

Week 7:  Tony's Birthday Card (DS1)
Week 8:  Juan's Birthday Card
Week 9:  Caroline and Connie's Birthday Cards
Week 10:  Stella Thinking Of You Card
Week 11:  Katiya's Birthday Card
Week 12:  Bobby's Birthday Card
Week 13:  Kim's Birthday Card
Week 14:  Easter Cards (mom & Vern)

The cards:

The "Snoopy" card had an up-do. I made that card years ago and it was really flimsy. Check out the video:

And the final card:

If you'd like to receive a handmade card from me, send me an email with your mailing address. You can find my email on the "Contact Me' tab on the Home Page.

My card box is getting so full, I felt the need to spread the love. I make cards but don't mail them out. It makes no sense! So, with this goal, I am also sending cards from the box and not making new ones.

This has also prompted some new sales of my cards. It is a happy accident since that wasn't my intention, but hey, I'll take it.

WOYWW #566

Here’s my desk this morning:
It’s full of messy goodness again today. I decided to go through my stamps and take inventory and discovered some treasures!

If you’re wondering why I’m sharing a photo of my desktop, it’s all part of the WOYWW challenge at StampingGround.  Come take a peek into all the craft areas/rooms/desks around the world!

Hope everyone is being safe, staying healthy and practicing all these new norms.

Handmade Embellies!

I’m on a roll with the Disney layouts and finally finished our trip. I didn’t take a ton of photos like I did when we went to Disney World, but there were still lots of fun layouts!

I love this two page spread. I made these bursts or whatever you want to call them to add fun to the layouts. I was struggling with this one but those embellies are super cute and exactly what it needed!

How did I make them? I punched circles using multiple punches.  On the back of the largest punched circle, I adhered strips of paper in random lengths to create a fun star burst. The paper strips were scraps that I cut at an angle. I didn’t measure length or width, just cut them up.

The Incredibles icon and masks were cut from the Cricut. I made the Incredibles layout first and then since the Hollywood Studios layout was next to it, I coordinated the embellishments. I love how they turned out. What I don’t like is the white hand drawn Mickey heads on the blue paper. I went too far and had to continue even though I don’t technically like them.

I hope this encourages you to make your own embellishments when you have the chance.

Punches:
1 3/8”, 1 1/4”, 1” all from SU!
Star punches from my stash
Mickey heads assorted sizes punch from EK Success
