WOYWW #660

Happy Wednesday and happy WOYWW! Why am I sharing my work desk with you? It’s all part of the WOYWW linkage. Take a peek into the crafty areas of many deskers around the world.

There’s not much on mine except some Sweet Tarts and a rainbow Valentine’s Day shaker card. I just finished the live FB event so my desk was pretty clear!

Be sure to click over to Stamping Ground to check out more desks!

See you next Wednesday!

Stick It Down Sketch

I decided to work on a two page layout using a Stick It Down two page sketch. Originally I was going to make this a Month in Review spread but then I realized that the baby taking her first steps should have its own layout. But these pages flow as one.

Here’s the sketch:

Here’s the layout:

Be sure to check out the YouTube process video:

All the papers and embellishments are from the Dear Lizzie It's All Good collection by American Crafts.

The pink background paper is cut at 10.5x 10.5 and 10.5 x 11.5 and the yellow paper is 3”x 10.5 and 3x4.5.

And check out Stick it Down for double, single and card sketches.

TGIF; Thankful Friday #206

Happy Friday and happy another week to be thankful! This week I’m thankful for the time I’ve been able to spend with my hubby and granddaughters. I go back to work next week after being home on disability for 12 weeks!

It’s gonna be hard to get up and ready for work!

I took these pix while we were blowing bubbles! She found these crowns so we all wore them all day.

Let me know what you’re thankful for this week by leaving a comment below.

Sketch N Scrap Card Sketch #210

Time for another sketch at the Sketch N Scrap challenge blog. I love using sketches as a jump off point when making cards or layouts. SNS has two layout and two card sketches each month. Be sure to check out the blog for inspiration.

Here's the sketch for the card:

And the completed card:

I used some leftovers from a 6x6 pad, cut and punched a bunch of circles in different sizes. I used a stamp set from Fun Stampers Journey for the sentiment & watermelon slice.

I found those little yellow flowers on my desk and added black centers with some Nuvo drops.

Your turn...create a card inspired by the sketch and link it to the SNS blog before the end of January.

WOYWW #659

Happy WOYWW! I’m showing off my work area today as part of the weekly linkage on Stamping Ground. This is a photo of my desk as I’m taking photos of some cards for both a challenge and my Monthly Card Kit.

I bought that paper roll at a teacher supply store. It’s for bulletin boards and it’s perfect for photo backgrounds. I also have one that is white wood grain.

2020 Layout Share

I posted a layout share video on YouTube and since then, I completed one of the incomplete layouts so I thought I'd share it.

You can view the YouTube video here:

This two page layout only had the photos, one embellishment and some very simple journaling:

I attached the photos during a crop and didn't have watermelon/swimming products packed. I couldn't find anything to complete it. After doing the Layout Share, I went back and I’m so glad I waited!

I opened up Cricut Design Space and started searching for swimming, birthday and even watermelon.

I found this simple bubble-like word, "pool" and knew I needed to use it. It is a one layer title/word, but I did a thing...
I duplicated and sliced it so there was only a thin line. I duplicated and sliced it again, and kept only the top portion. With the full original word, I changed the color to green; the thin line changed it to white; and the top portion changed it to red. I grouped them together and then added an off-set to it. I changed the off-set to dk. green. Once all the layers were cut, I used a black marker to add the seeds. SO CUTE!

I also cut a Happy Birthday title and this cute girl in an innertube. I changed the colors of the image to reflect the colors I needed for my layout. I used a marker to add seeds to the red portions of the innertube too. I also used an alcohol marker to add some shading to the skin and hair.
I also removed the previous journaling strips and replaced it with a journaling block and added so much more detail to the day. Some tiny puffy stickers, enamel dots and splatter finish it off!

Here's the finished two page spread. So much better...right?!?

The sparkly watermelon slice on the bottom left side was given to me from a fellow cropper at the crop. Isn't that one of the best things about attending a crop - croppers sure to like to share!

TGIF; Thankful Friday #205

TGIF and Happy Thankful Friday! I've been home for almost three months and every day seems like every day...what I mean is, I used to feel happy when Friday rolled around, but now every day is a Friday. Is this what it's like to be retired?

Anyhow, what am I thankful for this week? I'm thankful that my hand is slowly getting stronger, the swelling isn't so bad and I am able to do a little more each day.

How about you? What are you thankful for this week? Leave a comment below...I'd love to read about it!

In the meantime, have a great week!

WOYWW #658

Hello there and happy WOYWW! Wow, I haven’t shared my desk in a long time. It’s good to be back and I’m excited to peek into everyone’s crafty desks.

My work area:

I’m not working now due to hand surgery to repair a cut tendon on my right pinky finger. I cut it very bad while carving a pumpkin for Halloween.

It’s getting better and stronger every day but it’s still not back to normal. It’s been a struggle for sure.

I’ve been going nuts not being able to do much so I fiddle around with small projects without putting pressure to complete them on any kind of hurry. I have made some adjustments and de-stashing in the craft room but mostly sitting in my chair watching YouTube videos!

Be sure to click to the Stamping Ground site and visit other desks!

Wreck This Journal

I worked in my daughter’s journal today per her request and I love how it turned out. During the process video, I ended one way but then added some “How I Met Your Mother” quotes. I bought the stamp set and then couldn’t think of a project I would use them on. My daughter’s journal is Disney, movies and tv shows so they were perfect for this!

And the video:

Stamps were purchased from Ink Road Stamps.

TGIF; Thankful Friday #204

Happy Thankful Friday! This week I’m thankful for short road trips. Hubby and I took a short trip to the beach. We didn’t do much - things were closed and/or closed early so we weren’t able to do much. But just being out of the house was nice.
Honestly I didn’t want to go in the first place but I’m glad we did.

What are you thankful for this week? Leave a comment!

6x12 Layout & New Goal

Hey there! I made a new goal this year to post at least two YouTube videos a week AND at least one of them has to be a scrapbook post. So…here’s the first one:

I have three small photos for this 6x12 layout. I didn’t have a sketch in mind but knew I wanted to use certain scraps so it coordinated with the page next to it. I don’t always do that but I thought it worked well with the photos!

I hope you check out the video and hit the subscribe button to see more.

I reference Janet with RTS. Her videos are still on YouTube but she has moved to Patreon. You can find her channel  HERE
