TGIF; Thankful Friday #84

Happy Thankful Friday! I had the entire week off with a combination of holiday and vacation days. So you know I’m thankful for time off work!

If you read my earlier post, you also know that hubby, daughter and I were in Disneyland and CA Adventures for three days this week.

It doesn’t get much better than that. This was hubby and my first time at CA Adventures. We loved it! In fact, probably wouldn’t be mad if I ever went to Disneyland again. I mean, it’s fun and magical and all that, but...so crowded and expensive! Plus, I’m getting too old for all that non stop walking, LOL!

Now it’s your turn...what are you thankful for this week? Share in the comments.

WOYWW #516

Happy WOYWW everyone! I have a magical work area this week since my daughter, hubby and I are in Disneyland!

I added this image to a plain backpack that I already own:
I love my Cricut, Desgin Space and my newest baby, the Easy Press!

Honestly, I’m not doing any “crafting” but I sure am taking lots of photos and enjoying my time here.
Here’s a photo or two...

We’ll be home on Thursday so I’ll sneak at all your work areas when I return.

Enjoy!

And for those of you who don’t know what WOYWW is...click on over to Stamping Ground and read all about it. Basically it’s a weekly peek into others’ work areas. We get to be nosey and also share out work areas. Take a peek!

BBTB2 Challenge; Mother's Day

Hi there, I can't believe April is already almost done and May is right around the corner. Which means Mother's Day is coming too.

The current challenge at Bitten By The Bug 2 (BBTB2) is Mother's Day. I decided to make a card for my mama. I used the Just Because Cards and Country Life cartridges for the images.

The pitcher and flowers image is from Country Life. I added a hand-cut banner and stamped MOM on it. I added a string bow and gemstones to the center of the flowers to add some interest. I also inked the greenery and pitcher edges with PowderPuff Chalk Inks from Quick Quotes.

The woodgrain base shape was cut from the Just Because Cards cartridge.

Be sure to click on over to the BBTB2 challenge site for Mother's Day inspiration and to link your project.

TGIF; Thankful Friday #83

Happy Friday!

I had another busy week with the Easter holiday coming up AND more excitingly, the upcoming announcement that DS3 and DIL are EGGspecting!

I saw something similar to this online and decided to make one for my son to wear on Easter. It'll be interesting to see if anyone even notices.

Although we have a granddaughter, this will be our first grandbaby and the first grandbaby for my side of the family. Except for a few nephews and a niece, everyone will be at our home this Sunday. I can't wait to see my mom's reaction.

Have an amazing week!

WOYWW #515

Happy Wednesday!  I’ve been MIA on sharing my work area on WOYWW on the Stamping Ground blog. Sure I’ve been busy, but not that busy! I moved some things around on my work desk and it seems like I have more room to work, but guess what?! My supplies still overtake my desk. I still only have about a 10” square to work in.

Here are some photos:

My Cricut shelf was on the left side of my table backed up against the wall and when I needed to use one of them, I had to clear off the desk area and move the machine so there was room for the mat. I decided to move the shelf to the top part of my desk and now the mat moves to my daughter's side of the table which is clear.

It works for now.

Don't forget to click on over to the Stamping Ground blog to check out other desks.

TGIF; Thankful Friday #82

Happy Friday! I hope you're enjoying this crazy Spring weather. It has been beautiful this week but also windy and Thursday we got a little rain - Yup, typical Spring weather. I'm going to be honest, I haven't done a whole lot this week. So this week, I'm thankful for the fast food, take out, and dine in restaurants our town has to offer. There's not much here, but there's enough for a good variety.

Hubby did BBQ on Wednesday so that was nice, but other than that, we've been eating out. HA HA HA good thing we're on a diet.  BLAH.

I'm super excited about the return of Game of Thrones (GOT) but won't be able to watch it until next weekend. We have the granddaughter this weekend and anyone who watches GOT knows...it's not a kid show. It works out because we'll have two weeks worth of shows to watch next weekend!

Have a great one!

Flip Through; Layouts Done at the Crop

What Happens at the Crop Stays at the Crop

We had so much fun at the weekend crop that Memories in the Making in Lodi, CA hosted. The place was fabulous - lots of great stuff in the store; the people were fabulous - very friendly, positive and fun; and the location was great too - hello Starbucks right across the street!

We stayed at a hotel and made it a full scrapbooking weekend! I got a lot done, in fact at the end of the first day, I scrapped all the photos that I brought. Luckily there's a Walgreens across the street as well, so I was able to get more photos to scrapbook for Sunday. We're definitely going back there for more scrapbooking!

Here's a quick flip through of the finished layouts:

I still need to add some journaling and a title on a few of them, but they are "mostly" complete.

Have a great week!

I used the Let’s Go kit from Photo Play for the Seattle layouts. I bought this kit at the Expo last month.

We also received a double layout kit with all the pieces precut and ready to assemble. I didn't complete it at the crop, but I took photos of the completed layouts for future reference.

The video shows a St. Patrick’s Day Authentique paperline that we also received. It’s so beautiful and I can't wait to use it!

Going 3D on the BBTB2 Challenge Blog!

It’s my turn to host the challenge on the BBTB2 (Bitten By The Bug 2) and I chose 3D treat boxes and more...Click on over there to be inspired by the DT and to show off your project. The last challenge was Easter and I guess I still have the holiday on my mind!  LOL

Since Easter is just around the corner, I made this super cute “carrot” box for my granddaughter.

I did this by cutting the “carrot” using the cake box on the Tags, Bags, Boxes & More cartridge. I cut the shape at 6 1/4”. I probably could have gone bigger, but I was looking for a small box. I created the stem by cutting image #29 on the Home for the Holidays - Spring & Summer cartridge. I cut them at 3”. As always, Cricut adjusts the layers based on the size of the main image. I also cut the egg on this same cartridge. I cut that at 2 1/4”. The “L” is from the Country Life cartridge. (This was actually left over from an experiment from another project - I keep all my letters in a container to use later.)

I inked the carrot and stem using PowderPuff Chalk Inks from Quick Quotes. I love the way these inks give a soft look.

When cutting the 3D images from the TBB&M cartridge, you have an option to have holes which I did since I want to hang this cutie from her door.

Don’t forget to click on over to the BBTB2 site to link up your project. Remember you must use your Cricut and be sure to let us know which cartridge/image/etc you used!

Image result for broccoli image

Happy Friday! So, if you're a regular follower of my blog, you know I love Jesus but I cuss a little. I don't go to church on a regular basis, but I do read my bible and participate in a bible study group. I know there's power in prayer and say a prayer every day or night and sometimes both. I truly believe God is watching over me and my world.

So with that being said...

Yesterday morning, hubby went grocery shopping and I texted him a list of items that I needed.  A while later I realized I forgot to tell him to buy some broccoli.  By the time I got a hold of him, he was already on his way home. So no broccoli, right? Well...

The next day, I come into work and guess what!?!  Someone (hello God) brought a huge bag full of broccoli to share. I laughed so hard. Yes, God, I know YOU GOT ME.

I know it's the little things but that's what makes our relationship so amazing. God knows our little things just as much as our big things.  He's GOT US.

So as always, but especially this week, I want to thank God for all He's done for me and my family especially the little things!

Now it's your turn...what are you thankful for this week? Is it as little as some broccoli or did something amazing happen this week? Please share in the comments!

My Newest Toy

I finally did it! I purchased an Easy Press by Cricut. One of my fellow crafters let me borrow hers for awhile over Christmas and it is such a HUGE difference using an Easy Press versus your standard iron. I mean, they don't call it Easy Press for nothing!

I offered to buy hers, but she wanted to keep it as a portable option - she bought a huge heat press because that's her main reason why she uses her Cricut - iron on stuff.

At first I wasn't going to purchase one because I don't use iron on as much as paper and regular vinyl, but after using it and seeing the huge difference, I knew it was worth it! I looked at all the usual spots searching for the best price and lo and behold it was Walmart. Not Walmart.com - oh no it was more expensive than my local store. I got the 9x9 for $148!

I am so excited and I can't wait to unbox it and use it for the first time!

These are not my images, but I did get mine in raspberry.

So, if this is something you're considering, I say GO FOR IT! Be sure to check your local Walmart since their regular price was better than any sale price I saw.

Creative With Stamps April Challenge

It's time for another monthly challenge at Creative With Stamps (CWS). Click on over to the site for DT inspiration and to link your own card for a chance to win a prize.

April's challenge is...BIRTHDAY! It's also CWS's 3rd blog-aversary. WOW!

My card for the challenge:

I really wanted to use this truck for my card this month but even though it's super cute, I had a hard time coming up with a card design. So to get out of my creative funk, I went through my 6x6 pads and found this patterned paper. The bottom pattern of this card is the backside of the patterned paper. Easy!

I added a strip of coordinating washi tape so the border wouldn't be so harsh. Once I had my color combination, I colored in the truck using watercolor markers.

This stamp set is from Stampin' Up. Here are some other shots of the card:

Since I had the stamp set out, I created a second card with a different color combination. I may have overthought this card a little more but I still like it:

I added some Beach Ball Color Silk from Fun Stampers Journey for some fun splatter, a bit of yellow thread, doily and a custom made patterned paper (cupcakes) to add some interest behind the truck. I also added some white dots on the truck using a white pen.

Now it's your turn, click on over to Creative With Stamps to add your card to the linkage.
