Stamping in Scrapbooking? Yes, Please

I'm so glad I kept this Covid scrapbook collection from CTMH because the backsides are fabulous. I love themed collections because this is usually the case when papers are double sided.

I wasn't looking for a specific color scheme since the book jackets are all sorts of colors so this colorful collection also worked for that reason!

I also had a blast stamping all the embellishments for this layout for my daughter and my Summer Reading Marathon photos & memories.

School Layout; Echo Park Stickers

This is page two of a back-to-school double spread that I made earlier. It is very similar which is perfect for a coordinated look.

When Echo Park had a warehouse sale, I really stocked up on their sticker sheets. I figured I have plenty of paper in my stash that would coordinate without buying complete kits/collections. Guess what?  I do!!

I love how this layout and the coordinating one turned out. You can watch the process video for the left side HERE .

Now check out the process YouTube video for the layout above (and the left side of this two page spread)!

Eek Layout

When I first saw this sketch I just wasn’t feeling it. Didn’t know what I was going to do. Then instead of circles, I thought...pumpkins! Then it just came into play and worked out great!

I struggled a little with the mitered corners but was able to cover up a thick seam with sticker embellishments. I used an Echo Park collection called Ghouls and Ghosts. So cute!

LTCCB 80th Layout

It's been six weeks and it's time for another Love To Craft Challenge Blog challenge (LTCCB). The cool thing about this challenge is that you can share any crafty project. So if you're a sewer or painter or anything else, be sure to link your project before the deadline.

This time I decided to submit a layout. I used the little bit of materials from one collection and then found a coordinating paper pad that I had in my stash to supplement it.

It matches perfectly!

Be sure to watch the process video on my YouTube channel. If you're not already, hit that subscribe button. I'd appreciate it!

Close up of the cluster on the left side:

Be sure to go to the LTCCB site so you can check out the other DT projects and to link your own before the August 15th deadline!

Pretty in Ink Layout

When I couldn't find anything to embellish my layout, I created my own. Cricut Design Space has thousands of images, I knew I'd be able to create something!

I searched tattoo and ink for these images. I used Basic Shapes hexagon as the base for the images because the sketch I used had them. I think they gave them an edgier look too!

Added an offset to the hexagons and then flattened them to create print then cut images. I also cut hexagons in cardstock for a variety.

Here's the sketch by Scrapbooking With AnnMarie:

Watch the process video on my YouTube channel. If you're not already a subscriber, I'd love for you to subscribe. I post two videos a week. One is always scrapbooking and the other is whatever else I'm creating in the Command Center which you know is my craft room.

Scrapbooking With AnnMarie or Scrapbooking The Day Away is a great site if you love scrapbooking. It's an all things scrapbooking community! There are two memberships available, one is free and the other is a small monthly fee. AnnMarie is a wonderful person and she provides tutorials, challenges, sketches, chat area, etc. It's worth checking out!

Designer Deep Dive; Echo Park YT Hop

It's time for another YouTube hop hosted by Tara of the Paper Snob. Scroll down for all the details.

Here's my layout using Echo Park School Rules stickers. When Echo Park had a big warehouse sale, I decided to purchase a bunch of their stickers versus collections. If you're like me, we already have tons of papers that coordinate with these stickers even if they are not from Echo Park. I used a big paper pad called The Basics. You know, the one you bought because you were going to use it for everything? LOL

I haven't...but they sure did coordinate with the School Rules stickers I pulled out for my granddaughters' first day of school. It's a simple page but I love how colorful it is! I followed a sketch by Scrapbooking The Day Away.

Here's a closeup of the title/journaling part in the lower left corner:

Crush the Rainbow YT Hop; Yellow

It's that time again for the Crush the Rainbow YT Hop. The color for May is YELLOW. I had the perfect photos for this challenge and the layout turned out so cute. I mean...how can it not when the photos have these two cuties?

I used a sketch from Scrapbooking with AnnMarie/Scrapbooking the Day Away.

Be sure to check out her website if you're interested in all things scrapbooking including a great community of scrapbookers. There's a free and paid subscription available.

I also used my Cricut and SVG files from Printable Cuttable Createables for the embellishments and title. Can you believe I also did a little mixed media?

Iron Crafter Challenge; Nuvo Drops

I'm participating in a YouTube Hop hosted by The Paper Snob (a Facebook Group) and the challenge for April is Nuvo Drops. I don't have a lot of them, and I realized that they are all pretty much the same colors! But I tried to get a little creative by making stars and just fun-fetti all over the page. I think it turned out ok. What do you think?

I also used a sketch by AnnMarie from her website, Scrapbooking the Day Away. Click HERE for the website.

My finished layout:

This is the right side to a two page spread. I created the left side awhile ago without knowing about the banners & Nuvo Drop challenge so I brought it back out and added some more embellishments in order for the two sides to coordinate:

Now watch how it's done in my YouTube video:

Using Pocket Page Inserts on a 12x12 Layout

Who would have guessed that I found the perfect embellishments for a 12x12 layout using pocket page inserts? These colorful inserts helped give a festive feel to my granddaughter's preschool graduation photos. I put together these pocket page inserts years ago I believe for a swap. I only found them because I was looking for something else. The bright colors really stood out and grabbed my attention.

I used a sketch from Scrapbooking the Day Away which made this layout easy to finish. I was sitting in a Zoom call and didn't want to get up so I used the insert cards for the handmade title as well. I wrote the letters and then cut them out. I love how this title turned out.

What do you think?

Rainbow Crush YT Hop; Mint Green

Guest Designer on the Scrapbooking The Day Away Website; Week Two

Hi there, I'm a guest design team member on the Scrapbooking The Day Away website and there are some fabulous sketches there.

This week's sketch:

And my layout:

I was really excited about this sketch because it allowed me to use lots of scraps. I bought a beer themed collection years ago when we did a 60th birthday party for my hubby and still had lots of scraps. I pretty much used them all for this layout. There are four different patterned papers on this one layout.

I added white mats a few places to settle the eyes a little but I think the rest looks great! I hope you agree.

Check out my process video to see how this was put together and to get a few little paper saving tips so you can use those scraps!

Be sure to join the free membership on the STDA website. There is a free and a pay subscription available. Of course you get so much more with the paid subscription and it is totally worth it!

Rainbow Crush YT Hop; Red

Welcome to Rainbow Crush – a Social Media hop where we share projects that feature a color of the rainbow each month! This hop is hosted by Tara on her Facebook Group.  Anyone is welcome to play along.  This hop takes place on the  2nd Wednesday of the month!  The color for February is red!

You can sign for the next month’s hop over on the The Paper Snob Community Facebook group:

https://www.facebook.com/groups/thepapersnobcommunity/

The challenge color is perfect for these photos I have of our 49er Superbowl Party in 2024.

I used two different sketches from Scrapping the Day Away and lots of red.

More pictures:

The two footballs were the negative from a project that I completed before. I just had a feeling that I would use them for something. I thought about adding a back layer, but for this layout, I felt like it looked fine without one.

I know this side looks a little plain, but I actually like it. I may go back and add some journaling strips, but I'm not sure.

The three patterned papers are 4x6.

Opening Day 2014;Scrapping the Day Away

Hi there. I'm a Guest Designer this month for AnnMarie at Scrapping the Day Away. If you're a new or seasoned scrapbooker, this site is the place to be. Not only are there sketches, prompts and tutorials but there is also friendships and camaraderie!

I'm working with this sketch:

And created this layout!

When I saw those triangles, I knew exactly what photos I was going to use. They scream baseball pennants, right?! And the three baseballs! I mean, come on!

The SF and title were made with my Cricut and the other embellishments are from a sticker collection.

Don't forget to check out THIS incredible scrapbooking source. There's a free membership and a paid one.

Merry Christmas in July; Day Six

It only took me to Day Six to post a scrapbooking layout as part of my Merry Christmas in July series. I printed a photo of my granddaughters with Santa & Mrs. Claus in 2022. Used a sketch by Scrapping the Day Away and a variety of Christmas papers to create this layout. I love that you can use papers from different collections, and it still looks great together. I looked for papers that were a little more distressed and/or subtle since I didn't want it to be too cutesy.

The sketch:

The sketch is pretty basic but what really caught my eye is the bottom portion.  I like the six rectangles going across the bottom half of the page. What a great way to use multiple patterned papers! I cut these rectangles at 3.75x2.75". I used 6x6 papers and the Santa scrap piece, but using all scraps would be perfect for this!

How cute is Mr. & Mrs. Claus with the motorcycle? Originally, I was going to really focus on the motorcycle but then changed my mind. I mean, the motorcycle is not the focus, my cute granddaughters are!

I tried to emulate the photo background by adding die cut banners & punched snowflakes along with a Print/Cut title. I think the layout turned out so nice. I hope you agree! I love, love, love the black background and ask myself, why I don't use black as a background more often!

Be sure to watch the process video on my YT channel for all the fun details!

The dies were purchased from Tall Mouse at the Stamp/Scrapbook Expo. I don't know if they are the manufacturers or just sellers, but this is probably one of my best buys. They are fabulous!

6x6 paper pad is Heidi Swapp and the Santa paper is Theresa Collins. The papers I show at the beginning of the video are from My Minds Eye.
