Creative With Stamps - March Challenge #48

March 1st and it's the final post for Creative With Stamps. They have decided to take a break from the blog and I hope that they come back soon.

I had lots of fun being on the Design Team since 2017.

It’s a wobble card:

What I did:
I created the background by stamping a pattern with an Easter egg stamp. I used alcohol markers to color in the eggs, added shine with a clear glitter pen and made marks with white & black pen. The orange coloring between the eggs was done by swiping a water based orange marker on an acrylic block & using a water brush to spread the color.

I also used alcohol markers & glitter pen to color in the chick in the egg and chick image. I adhered a 3" vellum circle under the egg & chick image AND to add extra fun, used a wobble mechanism to it. So fun!

Creative With Stamps; February #47

This month's challenge at Creative With Stamps is...

I didn't make a New Years resolution, but I did challenge myself to send at least one card every week for 2020. I have so many handmade cards and I rarely send them out.

This challenge inspired me to make a Valentine's card. I’ll make a few more to send out to my nephews.

I made my own background by using a solid rectangle stamp and Real Red ink from SU! I just eyeballed the background. Then I dry embossed a cloud background over it; stamped some “x’s and o’s” to a couple of the solid stamps and splattered some Whip Cream Color Silk (FSJ).

The fox and sentiment is from an older set from CTMH and washi tapes are from my stash.

Creative With Stamps: January #46

Happy New Year! The Creative With Stamps  CWS challenge for January is:

I stamped this cute SCARF wearing owl for this month’s card challenge. After coloring the image with some alcohol markers, I selected a handmade background paper from my collection. Most of these were made by using a gelli plate, but not all of them. I store them in a separate container.

Once I made my selection, I stamped the image again on the paper and adhered the fussy cut owl over that. I added the sentiment, some ink splotches, gold glitter pen and other marks to finish the card.

Creative With Stamps #45; Polar Bear

I do not have any polar bear stamps in my stash. I was going to use any bear stamp and just keep it white, but most of mine are teddy bears so it didn't look right. But I did find this paper with polar bears and decided to use that as my inspiration piece.

I stamped a sentiment on white cardstock and cut in a circle using a circle cutter. I added gray/white twine by wrapping it around the top piece of patterned paper. I used a lt grey marker to add stitched lines around the sentiment circle & a glitter pen over the JOY to add extra sparkle. To finish the card, I added three enamel dots around the card.

For the second card, I layered the same patterned papers and adhered glitter ribbon around a piece of red cardstock. I stamped and fussy cut three snowy trees to add a cluster along with a sentiment and enamel dots.

Creative With Stamps #44; Turkey

November's challenge at Creative With Stamps is...

I didn't realize that I had a turkey stamp until I went through my "Other Holidays" stamp drawer and found this:

I received this stamp (along with many others) from Rubber Paws. I don't know why the middle is blank so if anyone knows, let me know in the comments. You'll see in the final card, I used a punched heart to place there.

Here are some of the products I used for the card:

I stamped the turkey three times with the Dark Roast ink. One turkey I used watercolor pencils and a water brush and the other two I used an assortment of Tombow markers to color in the image.

I thought I was done...but no...

After coloring the turkeys, there seemed to be something missing with the plain white background. I didn't want to fussy cut so I decided to make a mask and stamp over the turkeys with two different background stamps and two different ink colors. The red hearts have a little bit of gold glitter paper underneath the small hearts and are popped up with 3D foam squares.

I matted these panels to colored cardstock but still didn't really like them - they were missing something, so I pulled out a fine tip black marker and doodled around the diamonds in the background and around the turkey images. The messier the better. Then I added some Black Licorice Color Silk (FSJ) and a gold pen on one and white on two others.

CWS Challenge #43 - Tree

The challenge this month at the Creative With Stamps card challenge blog is:

I am really excited how my one layer card turned out. Let me start by saying, I rarely make one layer cards. They seem like they'd be easier to make, but they aren't! Or at least they aren't to me.

I started this card by spritzing Green Olive Color Splash (spray ink) to a large acrylic block and then adding some water to soften it.

Then I pressed the front side of the card base to the acrylic block and smooshed it around a little. There was left over ink on the block so I dripped some of the leftover to the card to create some drops. (I also added some of this leftover ink to the inside of one of my junk journals - but that's a whole other project!)

I really needed to be careful on this step because I didn't want color on the back of the card. I used my heat gun to help it dry and once it dried, I added some Heidi Swapp Gold Ink Spray to it. Once those drops dried, I let it sit overnight under a stack of acrylic blocks so it would flatten.

I ended up using my Cricut Easy Press to iron it a little because it was still a little more warped than I wanted.

I used the MISTI to stamp the tree to the card front. It took three impressions to get it nice and dark. The stamp is from Bloom Art (now Lila Grey).

I added some washi tapes that I have in my stash and was going to call it done, but I felt like it needed something...

So I added a quote from one of my Tim Holtz small talk booklet. I used a fine point black pen to outline the rectangles.

Creative With Stamps; September Challenge

Can you believe it's already September? Autumn is just around the corner and hopefully some cooler weather! The monthly challenge at Creative With Stamps is:

For this month's card challenge, I made this:

I used an old Stampin' Up leaf collection and some FSJ inks in Autumn colors. Have you made these cards before? It is so fun and so easy. I've done this before with three layers but liked it best with two. 

Basically, you cut your cardstock (kraft) into rectangle layers. For this card, the sizes are 4x5.25 and 3x4. Since my card base is white, I only needed to cut one more mat which was cut at 3.25 x 4.25. 

Stack the kraft layers on top of each other and then stamp as if it were one piece. (Use a removeable adhesive to hold them in place) Then you mat the pieces and adhere them as best as you can to line up the stamped images.

I added twine to the top layer and tied a double bow before popping on the sentiment.

The sentiment is one of those $1 stamps at Michaels that I purchased years ago too.

Creative With Stamps; August Challenge

The Creative With Stamps August challenge is...

I went with the masculine choice and made this baseball card. The stamp set is from Graphic 45 and coordinates with their sports line.

The birthday sentiment/circle is from Fun Stamper Journey and was popped up with some foam tape. The stars were an afterthought because I though it needed a little something more. I also added a little bit of green stamping to add some color.

I don't have a stamp of stripes, per say, but I have had this stamp set for over a year and haven't really played with it.

When I saw the challenge for this month, I thought of this set. Now I can kick myself because I really, really like the way this card turned out.

I used the MISTI to stamp the stripes on the white cardstock. The camera image was embellished with a white gel pen. I added some Sparkle Color Silk to the card for some sparkle and shine!

Can you image the color combination possibilities with these stripes - pastel for a new baby, brights for a birthday party, metallic for a fancy schmancy occasion, etc.

I also added foam tape to the camera and the entire panel before adhering to the card base.
