Squeeze The Day JJ Spread

I love pulling out the Junk Journal and getting messy with different mediums.  For this spread, I used mostly acrylic paints but I did pull out some fun tools.

I also remembered to film it! I'm getting better about that. If you're not already, please consider hitting the SUBSCRIBE button so you can see more of my videos.

Photos & Close Ups:

This cute panda is from willowing.org.

Tools: foam brush, assorted paint brushes, finger sponge dauber, script stamp, clipper comb and the back end of a paint brush

Mediums: Assorted acrylic paints; Sunbeam, Bright Yellow, Christmas Green, Parakeet, Think Pink, Marina Mist and Black & White
Black Sharpie marker for the "sign" and leaf doodles

I created this spread before I saw my granddaughter earlier with this top...has she worn it before and it stayed on my mind? I have no idea!

WOYWW #613

Happy Wednesday and Happy WOYWW! I'm working on so many projects and trying to continue posting videos on my YouTube channel. Who knew it was so much work! Fun work, albeit, but still work!

My desk today:

I finally finished a layout using the cut out circle that I posted about almost a year ago HERE. I love the way it turned out and I was able to use lots of scraps when adding color in those small cut out areas. If you want to see a better photo of the finished layout, scroll down...I just posted it yesterday!

On the lower left, is a peek at the premier card for a Monthly Card Kit that I'm starting. You can read more about that too by clicking on the Monthly Card Kit tab on the homepage.

Why am I sharing my desktop on a Wednesday? Click on over to Stamping Ground and check out the weekly linkage. From the number 613, you can tell that it's been going on for over 11 years! Crafters from all over share their work areas with us so we get a peek at what everyone is doing. It's pretty cool!

Monthly Card Kit Announcement!

I'm excited to announce that I will be starting a Monthly Card Kit in April!

What does that mean?
At the beginning of each month, I will show off the featured card for that month on all social media platforms (check the Monthly Card Kit tab on my blog) & then take orders & payment by a mid-month deadline. For $15/mo, you will receive all the products needed for that particular card* PLUS an extra set to make on your own. The second set will be the same card type, but with different colors, paper, theme, etc.

Within the kit, you'll receive typed instructions with measurements, score guide & step by step instructions to complete the card type. But wait, there's more...I'll also hold a Facebook Live event where we create the featured card together. You'll be able to ask questions, get answers, hang out and have fun.

If you cannot make the live event, you can refer to the instruction sheet or view the recording on FB and (hopefully) shortly after via my YouTube channel.

The event will be scheduled on the last Tuesday of each month at 7:00 PST. Plan for at least an hour. Don't worry, all this information will be included to you once the kit is purchased.

*You will need to provide your own adhesive and any basic tools like scissors, ruler, etc.

I’m nervous, as you can imagine, doing a live event but also excited.  Do you want to be a part of my first live event? What do you think?  Are you game?  It’ll be a fun way to gather without actually gathering.

Be sure to check back the first week in April to see the first featured card!

I'm looking forward to creating with you!

Challenge YOUrself Layout Challenge #86

I'm so excited about this layout! I cut the circle and scallop using my Cricut months ago and finally remembered that I hadn't used it yet. I'm catching up with my scrapbooking and used a lot of pink scraps for this layout.

I'm entering it in the Challenge YOUrself challenge blog for this month. The theme is Celebrate Love.

I'm not sure how much more love you can have than the birth of your first grandbaby.

It was hard to get a good picture since the metal "sweet" and "baby" gave a lot of glare but you can still see how I used a variety of words and letter stickers to create the title. I was surprised to learn that I didn't have much embellishments for babies,, so I used what I had.

Click on over to their blog to see more challenges. The idea is to include yourself more in your scrapbooking. Get in front of the camera more often!

New DT Announcement; Sketch n Scrap

I'm excited to announce that I'm one of the newest DT members for Sketch n Scrap. They have two card sketches and two layout sketches a month. I've said it before and I'll say it again, I love using sketches when starting a project! It makes it so easy to start. Now the good thing about sketches is that they don't necessarily need to look exactly like the sketch - sometimes the sketch just inspires the final layout.

Read more about my introduction HERE.

I hope to see you link your cards and scrapbook layouts over there!

BBTB2; Anything Goes Challenge (Cutting A Multi Layered HTV Project)

It's time for another two week challenge theme at the Bitten By The Bug 2 (BBTB2) challenge site. This challenge theme is...anything goes.

I filmed a quick time-lapse video on making a customized face mask for my neighbor by using a SVG that I created.

This was a small project so I was able to use scrap pieces of red, white, gold and black to create the layers. Once I hit “make it”, I selected each layer and clicked the 3 dots on the upper left of the image to move each layer to another mat - the first mat. Making sure to place these objects with plenty of space between them and allow room for the different color vinyl.

I know this is a horrible photo and super small but I think you can tell what I mean. The different color vinyl pieces were placed in the same position of the images on the mat design in DS.

You’ll only have to load/cut the mat one time for all four colors. This is such a timesaver!

Hints when using HTV:
  • Be sure that the shiny side is facedown on the mat when you are cutting
  • Mirror your images before you cut
  • For small pieces, use washi tape to make sure they are stuck to the mat
I used my mini press for this project. I love this little guy for these small projects! Be sure to use a teflon sheet or something similar to protect the previous layer when doing a multi-layer project. I like to also iron on the back to add extra heat to the adhesive. Remember to work from the bottom layer to the top.

LTCCB March; Funky Cool Cards

March first and time for a new challenge at the Love To Craft Challenge Blog (LTCCB). I am so excited to share these cards with you! I made a bunch of gell plate pulls and decided to grab a bunch of them & other scraps to make these mixed media, collage, layered funky cool cards.

This cool piece is a piece of patterned paper that I cut a lot of circles from my Cricut and then used it as a stencil on the gell plate. It was a thin piece of paper and pretty much ripped once I used it as a stencil. I almost threw it away but I'm so glad that I didn't.

This is the pile of papers/scraps that I used for these cards:

First layering & adhering the pieces to the card fronts:

Then added details with a white POSCSA pen, some stamping w/black archival ink & script stamp:
Now some gold, white and black splatter plus added a border using a black pen:
Added sentiments, adhered to colorful card bases and DONE!

Don't you LOVE them!?!

Now it's your turn...create something...anything and link it up to the LTCCB before the end of the month.
