Here's what I did this month:
How did I do it?
I bought the wooden ornament bases and floral picks from the Dollar Tree. I had to sand the edges because they were a little rough otherwise not a bad deal for a buck!
I watched a YouTube video on how to paint the buffalo check and used white, soft gray, granite gray and black. (Do a search...there are plenty out there!) Mine are a little distressed since I didn't wait for the paint to completely dry before placing the painters tape. But I do like the look!
I used my Cricut to cut Merry Christmas with vinyl which I downloaded from lovesvg.
Then I added the ribbon, greenery and jingle bells to the top of the ornaments to finish them off. This was actually a quick and easy project if you have the right tools. I made one for our door and two more that I'm gifting to both my DILs' families.
Here are the other two I made:
Be sure to check out all the DT creations and link up your project for the December challenge at LTCCB.
I'm impressed with your dollar store item makeover, especially the hand painted plaid !!! I think it looks great "distressed", too. Your DIL's are going to love these. Happy Holidays, "teamie".
