TGIF; Thankful Friday #145

Thank God it's Friday! I'm ready for the weekend! This week I'm thankful to see my granddaughters. There was a possible COVID concern but it all turned out fine. But because of this, we weren't able to see them in person since two weeks ago.

It was great to give hugs and kisses again!

What are you thankful for this week? Let me know in the comment!

Donut Worry...Be Happy

Donut Worry...Be Happy. What a great layout title! Here’s another layout from the donut themed party. For this layout, I followed the sketch $#435 at Sketches in Thyme.

Before adding the photos, I cut three strips of patterned paper/cardstock to completely cover the cardstock base. I used the same American Crafts paper pad as I used for the other layouts for this birthday party. I cut down the 4x6 photos to allow some space between them and to be able to see more of the background papers.

The title was made by matting white cardstock to pink cardstock circles and then stamping. I added the journaling box to the bottom of the 6x4 photo as in the sketch.

Added some donut stickers, paper banners and some ink splatters in a diagonal.

I added the label “Paper Pad Party” because I’m really trying to bash this paper pad for this birthday party. I love the bright colors and they seem to coordinate perfectly and there are journaling cards included. With the exception of the donut stickers, I’m only using what’s in the pad...now that’s a party!

Donut Grow Up Layout & YouTube Video

I finally had some time to work on my daughter and granddaughter's birthday photos from last year (2019). We had a donut theme - DONUT Grow Up - which was a lot of fun and perfect for the combined party. Their birthdays are one day apart!

Card Goal 2020 Update; Weeks 29 - 35

Ok...if I'm going to be honest, I missed a week. I'm mad at myself because I had a birthday boy to send it to, but didn't remember to actually send the card. But that won't stop me from future cards and that's why they make Belated Birthday cards!
So to continue my goal, I'm determined to send out all these cards for Weeks 29 - 35:
Week 29 - Birthday Card to a friend
Week 30 - Wedding Card to cousins
Week 31 - Birthday Card to a friend and three sympathy cards
Week 32 - Birthday Cards to my daughter & granddaughter
Week 33 - Thinking of You card to a retired coworker
Week 34 - Birthday Card to my nephew
Week 35 - Birthday Cards to a friend & my mom

I made this card using some stamps from Graphic 45 for a FB request for cards for their 90 year old grandfather:
I love the vintage feel of this card!

I had to send three sympathy cards during Week 31. There was only one death, but I am friends with three different families of that person.

TGIF; Thankful Friday#144

Happy Friday! Sorry my post is so late. Our power was out for seven hours yesterday and I'm so busy at work, I didn't have time to take a break to post.

This week...what am I thankful for? I'm thankful for a busy week. I'm exhausted and my head is spinning, but it's a great feeling and it sure does make the work day go so fast. I've slept great all week and that's always a great feeling.

I hope all is well is your neck of the woods and you enjoy your weekend. Mine is a three day weekend and I am super excited for the extra day.

Enjoy!

WOYWW#587

Happy Wednesday and happy WOYWW! I was on vacation last week so my desk is still nice and cleanish. I thought I’d share a few photos of the trip. We went from CA to UT to AZ and back. It was gorgeous!

Love To Scrap Challenge Blog; September

This month at the Love To Scrap Challenge Blog (LTSCB), the challenge theme is...Anything Goes. I decided to make some cards using scraps. They started like this:
The first card was made by stamping a cute cat stamp on the top half of a white card base. I adhered the rainbow strip panel right below it and added a punched banner with Happy Birthday stamped on top.

I love how this cat turned out! I used a gray watercolor marker with a blender pen to lightly color around the edges of the cat. I’m not normally a cat person, but I know many people who are.

On the second card, I stamped the sentiment first and added a piece of black washi tape between the sentiment and the rainbow panel. I added the red & green fishtail banners to the top left.

Aren’t these great?! And I love that they were made with scraps! These are an example of simple & cost effective cards!

Now it’s your turn...link up your project to the LTSCB before the end of the month. What are you going to make?

If you're interested to see what I made using the other scrap strip panel, go to the Love To Craft Challenge Blog (LTCCB).
