Happy Wednesday! Today is my middle son's birthday. Dang! He's 32 years old. I can't believe my babies are getting so grown!
Today is also the day I get to show off my work area. Click on over to Stamping Ground, Julia's, blog to read all about the weekly linkage. Can you believe it's been TEN years! Wow!
Here's a photo of my work area:
Last night my daughter asks me to help her make some photo booth props and signs for this morning. Really? Well, instead, I went through my closet instead and pulled some silly things that I thought would work. But I did manage to make a sign that said "No Boys Allowed".
The container to the left is filled with random letters that I keep for times like this. These letters are my practice sizes or projects that were changed or whatever...and I didn't want to toss out. Years ago, I made baby gifts using an assortment of letters to create an alphabet chart. Click HERE and HERE to see some of them.
Be sure to click HERE to get to the linkage to sneak a peek into the other deskers' areas.
Have a great week!
That's a great idea using up some of the spare letters - it works really well!! And I share you surprise (horror) in the realisation that our kids grow up while our back's turned.....

ReplyDeleteGood idea to have extra letters for times like that I always struggle to find my letter dies in times of need so maybe if I cut some out it may help, if I don't lose them of course.. Great sign!!

ReplyDeleteHi Dorlene, I have e-mailed you to ask for your address so that I can send it off safely. You made a good job of that notice. It is amazing how crafters can pull things out of the hat at the last moment. Happy 10th anniversary. xxx Maggie (Silvercrafter) #41
ReplyDeleteI'm really late as I was forced to go out with friends today to drink coffee and eat scones.... I could hardly say no! but it has made me late getting round. I think I need a sign like the one on your desk, love it. Wishing you a lovely woyww and a happy creative week with hugs, Angela x19X
ReplyDeleteHappy 10th WOYWW to you! I recently got quite stressed needing some letters for some project or other and was about to head off to buy some when the penny dropped! Make them yourself Debbie, I said! So I did! Love to you from Debbie #25 xXx
ReplyDeleteHappy 10th Anniversary!
ReplyDeleteHow smart to save all those letters! And I bet your daughter loves the sign! Thanks for stopping by and have a great day!

Thank you for popping by. Love the sign you made. My babies are now 41 and 43 - how on earth did that happen? lol
ReplyDeleteHappy WOYWW Anne x #24
I made some of those photo booth things for a tea party a couple of years ago and kept them - they have been out a couple of times since!! I love what you did with the spare letters, it's really cool. Most of my alphabet dies are 'multiples' so you always get a couple of spares even if you use a small bit of paper. I keep them of course (hoarder extraordinaire) but never had an idea for using them till now (I don't think I'm ever going to meet anyone called IJK). Happy 10th Anniversary, Cindy #44
ReplyDeleteHI Dorlene, oooh that is such a fun sign for your dd photo booth :) Happy Anniversary! ~Stacy #37
ReplyDeleteHappy 10th WOYWW birthday Dorlene. Love the lettering, great when you have something already in your stash like that. My middle son is 25 on Monday, they do grow up quickly! Sarah #3
ReplyDeleteLove the letters - it looks good in different fonts and colours - it just goes to prove how us crafters should never throw anything out - we never know when we might need it!!
ReplyDeleteHappy 10th anniversary,

Daughters know exactly who to come to for those last minute projects and it looks like you have an amazing collection of letters. Happy 10th woyww.

Hi Dorlene, sorry I am late visiting. Happy 10th WOYWW anniversary. Love the sign - if I put that on my craft room I wonder if it would stop my grandsons coming for sleepovers? My craft room doubles as the guest bedroom. They love coming over, and often make cards for their mum and dad. Thanks for the earlier visit. My desk is not often that tidy, but in honour of the occasion I felt it warranted a good old spring clean! Have a lovely week, Heather x #30
ReplyDeleteHi Dorlene, Good idea to use up the spare letters.
ReplyDeleteThank you for stopping by You aren't the only one who's number has changed. my blog. You put your number as 42, but you are #39. You aren't the only one who's number has changed.
Happy 10th Anniversary WOYWW

Love a photo booth, that will be fun, and yep, end of the day and I would be wardrobe rummaging too, great idea. Love that you keep the odds and spares when you cut, never occurred to me! words and titles look so great in different fonts, I feel I will be following your lead! Happy returns to your son...I understand that gulp of reality at these ages!
ReplyDeleteThe Woyww-list is quite long in this anniversary-week and I want to visit everyone on it, so I am still making my round... sorry I am late. I love the big, coloured letters! I have a lot of 'spare' letters too in my stash, but I always miss the "E" (Dutch language uses a lot of E's) Have a nice Sunday. Happy late-woyww-anniversary, hug from Holland. Marit #16
