Fun Fold Easel Card with a Twist

Earlier this month was National Teddy Bear Day and I created some cards for an Instagram hop. I grabbed some 6x6 papers that gave a cozy feel.

Can you believe this three layer stamp was on a Trash/Treasure table? I'm so glad I got it and don't worry, I'm always adding items to those tables because I know that I'm always checking stuff out there!

Details:
Cardstock base 4.25x11; scored at 1, 2, and 6.5"
Cardstock 1.75x11; scored at 5.5"
PP 4x4.25; 3/4x4 and 1.5x 5.25

Adhere the pattern papers to the Cardstock as shown in the process video.

I punched a 2.75" circle to add the bear to and adhere to the middle Cardstock strip.

TGIF; Thankful Friday #382

Hi there and happy Thankful Friday! This week I'm thankful for a low key week. I think the weather is getting to me because I've been feeling kinda blah this week.

The temps are lower and there's definitely moisture in the air. Don't get me wrong, I love the fall but the change in weather always gets me.

What are you thankful for this week?

Birthday Layout

Another colorful and photo heavy birthday layout of my daughter and granddaughter. It's so fun to remain in theme when creating our layouts.

I like using sketches to start the process especially when I'm feeling a little unsure where to start. This was an easy sketch to follow but of course I changed some things. I got this sketch from the 100 Pattern Paper Challenge group on Facebook.

The stickers really helped make this layout fabulous! Speaking of fabulous, the title was cut using my Cricut. Super simple!

Watch the process video on my YouTube channel.

No need for journaling since this is the second of three double page spreads of this party. To see the first video, click HERE

Creative Hand; Junk Journal

Hey there! I'm not even sure what to call this but I created a colorful and meaningful opening page in my junk journal. I was inspired by a lesson by Eulalia Mejia who is a mixed media artist that I love.

The first thing I did was pull out random junk papers that had a white background. My favorite is one of my old elementary report cards. Then I painted on them. The next steps can be viewed below.

Using a fine tip applicator and white acrylic paint was so easy. I don't know why I didn't try this before. I have such poor luck when using white pens, this was an easy alternative!

Christmas Ornament Tag; Jenlee Schoolcraft

Hello! I received a bunch of fabulous goodies from the Jenlee Schoolcraft website to play with. I decided to use this beautiful die set to create Christmas ornament tags.

This die set has two pieces but I'm only using one for this project - the ornament die with a center opening. The first thing I did was cut out one from glittery paper and four from white cardstock using my die cutter for each tag.

Watch the process YouTube video for the visual. So easy and so pretty!

I'm making this into a shaker with lots of sparkly and festive elements. I also dug into my Christmas embellishment stash to use premade banners and poinsettias to decorate!

Instead of using foam adhesive to create the 'well' for the shaker bits, I stacked three cut pieces of cardstock and of course two cut pieces of clear acetate. This is so thick and perfect to hang on the tree or on a gift package.

If you're looking for budget friendly new and gently used crafty supplies, look no further than the Jenlee Schoolcraft website.  And if you use the discount code, Dorlene, you'll get an extra 10% off!

TGIF; Thankful Friday #381

Hi there and happy Friday! This week went by so quickly and there are many reasons to be thankful.

Monday was my mom's birthday so after dinner, we played one of her favorite games, Chicken Foot. It's a domino game and easy to play for all ages.

The thing I'm thankful for is that even when my teenage granddaughter says she doesn't want to play (and we sort of forced her), she ended up getting into it and having fun.

The interesting part is that she was on her phone the entire time talking to some friends. I hope she realizes that we were the only ones having family time and I hope one day she realizes how important, rare and special that is.

What are you thankful for this week?

Football Love Layout; Printable Cuttable Creatables

Are you ready for some football? Well at our home, we are always ready for some football. I’m sharing a scrapbooking layout using two cut files from the Printable Cuttable Creatables website.

Once I put together my photos and patterned papers to my layout I knew the perfect embellishments would come from my Cricut and PCC.  I’m using Love Football Clipart & SVG and the Love Football freebie

I like to use liquid adhesive to put the layers together and even though these images don’t have a lot of layers, I still like to lay them out first before adding it.

It’s a good habit to get into.

Instead of having the football heart just floating there on my layout, I added it to a strip of white cardstock (accented with a strip of black and red) to create a journaling spot.

I used a fine tip black marker to freehand the lines but you could certainly use a ruler if preferred. The LOVE image was perfect as is for the title.

You can customize the color of the letters to match your favorite team colors. I love how the football replaces the “O” in the word. So clever!

You can see how these embellishments complete the layout that showcases our “first game of the season” tradition.

Great pictures, colorful papers and fabulous embellishments makes this a quick, easy and fun scrapbook layout!

Alcohol Marker Coloring

If you're like me, we're not great at all the detailed coloring. Look... I just want something pretty without too much work.

On September 6th, it's National Read a Book Day so I created this card with that in mind. The stamp set is an oldie from CTMH called, In a Book.

It's a great set if you can find one.

Check out my quick YouTube video on how I colored the image!

Christmas and Overlays

I'm finishing up my 2022 layouts and adding final touches to this Christmas December Daily layout. I created the first (right side) layout earlier. You can watch it HERE.

I finally completed the left side and created a smaller version of an overlay for it.

Watch the YouTube video to see how it was created.

TGIF; Thankful Friday #380

Hey there it's Friday and another week to be thankful. It's still hot over here and the girls and I decided to take a little road trip to the coast.

This is what I'm thankful for this week...living in California. We are close to the coast, the mountains, the desert and pretty much everything else.

It's great to be able to pick up and go! What are you thankful for this week?

Happy Birthday Layout; LTCCB

It's the first of September and time for another six week challenge at the Love To Craft Challenge Blog.

The challenge blog is for all things crafty. I decided to make a masculine scrapbook layout for my hubby. I have a hard time finding birthday paper and embellishments for grown men. It's so much easier to find stuff for boys.

But I found a sticker sheet from Echo Park and a matching 'Happy Birthday' paper that was perfect!

I added strips of torn coordinating patterned papers and grouped stickers on the right side to create a sticker/embellishment cluster. Super easy and perfect for showcasing the photos of the birthday boy and a photo of the football helmet cake topper that I made as well.

Your turn. Add your crafty product to the LTCCB blog site and check out the Design Team projects for inspiration!
