TGIF; Thankful Friday #352

TGIF folks! This week I'm away from home visiting my family and I'm thankful for that. I'm also thankful for more Arizona adventures even if it means shopping at the Goodwill Outlet and eating a donut for lunch!

What are you thankful for? Let me know in the comments!

Back to School 2022

I bought a premade scrapbook kit awhile back but as you can guess, I didn't create any of the layouts. I used products as I wanted and this layout is a perfect example. I loved how the base page had the pink I was looking for but also allowed some other patterns without any effort on my part.

Check out the YouTube process video to listen and watch how I chose the elements and placement of them on this page.

I was at a retreat with limited products but I love how this turned out. I feel I get more creative when my supplies are limited and I love that!

The scrapbook kit is from Simple Stories.

Free Hugs Cactus; Printable Cuttable Creatables

Hi there. I'm here to share a fun project I created for Printable Cuttable Creatables Design Team. Free Hugs Cactus cut file can be used for anything, but I decided to put it on a red t-shirt for my granddaughter. Because of the small size, I was able to use all HTV scraps for this project!

Once I cut out all the pieces (don’t forget to mirror the image if you’re using HTV!), I layered the pieces so I could determine which piece to iron on first.

Then, before pressing onto the shirt, I needed to find the middle of each section so it would be centered on the shirt. I folded the sections and used my fingernail to add a crease at the middle.

Folded & pressed the shirt at the center as well. Then you just have to match the crease line on the shirt to the crease line on the different sections.

Originally, I used the Mini Press but switched to the Easy Press as the layers were building up since I needed more coverage.

Press each section for about 5 to 6 seconds and cover the entire image with teflon or parchment paper between presses. This will ensure that the iron doesn’t burn the vinyl and honestly, protect your iron!  On the final layer, press the entire image for the full 30 seconds (or whatever your press time is.)

Look how fun the glitter needles are!

It wasn’t intentional but since I was determined to use scraps, they were in my scrap pile and worked perfectly! And here’s the final project. I love this image on the red t-shirt. It really makes everything POP!

So fun! Be sure to check out this and other projects on the Printable Cuttable Creatables blog! And use 3SONS15 for 15% off your purchase! Believe me, you will find so many cute images!

TGIF; Thankful Friday #351

Hi there and happy Thankful Friday! I had a nice and quiet week and the thing I am thankful for are my blooming bulbs.

If you follow me on Instagram, you've seen my bulb updates and probably how it started. I planted four different types of flower bulbs, lasagna style. Which is supposed to give blooming bulbs throughout spring.

This is the view from my kitchen. Can you see them?

I'm excited that they have been sprouting and some of the daffodils are starting to bloom!

What are you thankful for this week?  Please share in the comments!

Flower and Citrus Bouquet; Junk Journal Spread

Every time I open my Junk Journal, I always wonder why I don't play in there more. It's such a fun creative time for me and I hope you enjoy my process and final project.

Today I decided to paint a floral with citrus bouquet. Ok, if I'm being honest, it started as a lime bouquet or plant but I did not like how the piece was looking. That's what I love about playing...if you don't like it, change it.

I added some flowers and leaves and everything that would fit inside this vase. Final piece...love it!

I tried some other things with the background, etc. Be sure to check out the process video to see how it all came together.

I'm so close to 1,000 followers on YouTube, if you're not already a subscriber, please think about hitting the subscribe button! I appreciate it!

TGIF; Thankful Friday #350

Happy Friday! I had a nice and relaxing week and I am thankful for that. Hubby and I did some grandparenting duties each day and that was great.

The bulbs I planted in November are starting to grow. These are the ones I planted lasagna style. For more info on that, check out THIS post. I can't wait for the blooms!

I can see the four different stems. Can you?

What are you thankful for this week? I'd love to hear all about it!

Layouts Using Scraps and Cricut

During the retreat I attended, I completed a bunch of layouts before I remembered to film. Lol. Sometimes I can be so forgetful!

For this layout, I created and cut images with my Cricut before so I didn't have to worry about embellishments while I was there. But what I didn't do was plan my papers or layouts.

Because there were so many photos, I went through some scraps and cut them into 6x6 pieces. Then I added the five photos across the bottoms. Check out the YouTube process video to see how I put these together.

Here are close ups. Don’t you love the cherries?

Elvis Museum Layout

I'm starting my Memphis trip layouts so you're gonna see lots of Elvis themed pages. These pages are photos from the Entertainment Career Museum. I created lots of Elvis, music, and records cuts with my Cricut to add fun embellishments to the pages.

I went to a four day scrapbooking retreat and finished lots of layouts - 31 to be exact! I packed light and really used my imagination on most of them. This two pager was a sketch challenge with other specifics. I love the paper choices which wasn't part of my plan.

Watch the process video because there's a lot going on with this layout. I hope to inspire you!

TGIF; Thankful Friday #349

Hello and happy thankful Friday! For some reason typing TGIF has a different feeling now. I mean, now that I'm retired, it's just another day!

What am I thankful for this week? For one, this was my first official week of retirement and it was great!  I watched the girls for a couple days, I met my friend for coffee, we went to breakfast, caught up on shows and hubby and I didn't get on each other's nerves! Yet.

I'm also at a four day scrapbooking retreat right now so it doesn't get much better than that!

What are you thankful for?

Happy Baseball Rocking Card

Hey there and Happy New Year!  I'm joining the Printable Cuttable Creatables Design Team for another term for the winter and I'm really excited about it!  If you haven't checked out the website, you must do it soon.  The cuts are adorable and such great variety.  If you use the code 3SONS15, you'll get 15% off your order!

My first project for the new DT term is this cute Happy Baseball Rocking Card.  The cut file has the baseball and a baseball cap.  The nice thing is that you don't have to use the cap if you don't want or vice versa...you don't have to use the ball if you only want the cap! That's two cut files in one!

As always, I lay the pieces together before adding adhesive. This helps to ensure that your pieces are in the right place before you get adhesive where you don't want it.

Once that's determined, I used liquid adhesive to lay them together and used Sticky Specs for the red laces. I actually remembered to pull out the tweezers for those!

For the rocking card, I cut a 5.5" circle and folded it in half. Used a bone folder to give it a good crease. The patterned paper is cut to half of a 5" circle. I used my scissors to trim off some of the top edge. You can see that on my YouTube process video.

Be sure to place the ball on the card base just under or at 4.25" high and in the center horizontally. You don't want this to be larger than 4.25 x 5.5 in order to fit in an A2 envelope.

Other than a quick stamped sentiment and some faux stitching on the cap, this is it. Isn't it super cute?

Be sure to check out this project on the PCC blog as well as other DT projects. There is such a great variety of projects and you'll find lots to inspire you!

Rainbow Crush YT Hop; Color Challenge Blue

I'm participating in a YT Hop with Paper Snob and it's a color challenge.  This month's color is Blue. I used lots of blue papers (four patterned and one solid), I also used blue letters and blue cloud rub ons. I am actually proud of myself with the rub ons. Those have been in my stash for a long, long time!

I was able to get six photos on this layout without overcrowding the page and a cute rounded title.

Welcome to Rainbow Crush – a Social Media hop where we share projects that feature a color of the rainbow each month! This hop is hosted by Tara on her Facebook Group.  Anyone is welcome to play along.  This hop takes place on the  2nd Wednesday of the month!

You can sign for the next month’s hop over on the The Paper Snob Community Facebook group:

TGIF; Thankful Friday #348

Did I skip a Friday? It's been a crazy busy month and for that I'm thankful. But specifically thankful for my mama and sisters for a wonderful time while we were in Arizona.

My mom is so fun and just goes along with our shenanigans. Here's proof:

Happy New Year to you and don't forget that no matter what there's always something to be thankful for!

Easy Card Using Stuff Found on My Desk

I'm not feeling well but I still felt like making a quick card for the Love to Craft Challenge Blog.  The great thing about the challenge on this blog is the challenge lasts for six weeks and you can submit any creative project you make.

Luckily I keep random items on my desktop. I did a quick search through my stuff and found some stuff I could use.

Watch the process video to see how it started one way but ended up another. I know it's simple, but simple is what I needed right now!

This butterfly has been on my desktop since March and I am happy to finally use it. You can tell I'm not feeling well since I put the adhesive on the front of the image. Eek!  I can't believe I did that!

But, it all worked out!  Be sure to link your project on the Love to Craft Challenge Blog!
