TomKat Strut Layout

I've mentioned my friend Ann Marie's website before, but I'm going to do it again! If you haven't checked out Scrapbooking With AnnMarie (Scrapbooking The Day Away), I strongly recommend it. She hosts many challenges, inspirations, sketches, and all things scrapbooking. There is something for everyone!

I am using one of her sketches for this layout. I love using multiple photos on a layout and this one had room for four. It's almost a grid-like sketch, but so much more!

Here's the sketch:

And here's my layout:

You can see the process by checking out my YouTube process video:

The yellow & red horizontal strips are cut at 1.5x12"; teal patterned paper at 5x11; white cardstock is 8.5" square. All the paper embellishments were cut out previously using the Cricut.

I have a container of cut letters that for whatever reason didn't make it on a project. I grabbed the letters for "week" to create this title. You'll notice that they are different fonts and I love the quirkiness of it. I did add some white pen outlines to create more interest.

I love having multiple photos on a layout and this one did not disappoint!

Printable Cuttable Creatables Blog Hop!

The holidays are here and what better way to celebrate than with a Blog Hop?! Printable Cuttable Creatables is hosting one today and there are lots of projects to inspire you. Be sure to check it out because there are lots of prizes and discounts to take advantage of! Here’s the link to the main post - click HERE.

I decided to create a Christmas Cookie Baking Layout using the Christmas Baking SVG Bundle WTS008. I used not so traditional Christmas colors to complete the title since the patterned paper was more of a pastel color scheme. I love the cut files from PCC. First of all, all the pieces are in one file and she includes multiple choices for each image. For example, I used the Baking Spirits Bright title and it came with and without the offset.

Take a look at the YouTube process video:

I don't usually share cutting measurements when using a CTMH sketch, but this one was free on their website and you can get all the information HERE

You'll notice on the video that I had to cut two pieces 2x12". The patterned paper that I chose has horizontal text so I give a great tip on how to handle this. Check it out!

Be sure to HOP ALONG to all the other Design Team members! There will be lots of prizes and discounts available at the Printable Cuttable Creatables website.

Hoppers:

Products Used:
Close To My Heart (CTMH) paper pack, sticker sheet and enamel embellishments
CutCardStock for all the cardstock with the exception of the brown for the rolling pin. That was in my scrap bin.

Pocket Page Insert; Hot Ones Challenge

Hey there, I used a pocket page insert to add all the remaining photos from the Hot Ones Challenge my family did in November, 2021. I took so many photos so I printed them all in wallet size. In order to do that, I used the collage print in 4x6. If you add two photos, they print out approximately 3x4 (they are a little smaller because a border is included).

This saved me so much space when creating these layouts. I made a 12x12 layouts that this insert is sandwiched between. To check out the layouts, click HERE and HERE.

Both the layouts and the insert are pretty simple as far as design, but it works. They showcase photos, tell a story and have some fun embellishments.

Check out the YouTube video to see how quickly I put this insert together. I hope you can tell that this insert has three 6x4 pockets but inside of the photos being that size, I was able to get two photos in each pocket!

TGIF; Thankful Friday #294

Can you believe it's Black Friday and the last Friday in November? Happy Friday and happy Thankful Friday. The holidays are here and it gets harder and harder to get through the days. But I am thankful for family gatherings and the fact that I know that I am not alone.

Sometimes something as simple as that can make things seem better.

SNS Card Sketch #254

Another excellent card sketch from Sketch n Scrap! I needed a card for a baby shower so I used this sketch to create the front of a gift card holder. The image was one that was given to me from a swapping friend so I don't know anything about it. The plaid paper is from Taylor Expressions. It's from a 6x6 pad that I've had in my stash for awhile too.

Here's the sketch:

And here's my card:

As you can tell, I turned the sketch to its side for this card front. To make it a gift card holder, take your 4.25x11" card base and score it at 2.75 & 5.5".

Fold at the 5.5" score line. Now, open the card with the inside of the card facing you and the 2.75" score line towards the bottom. Fold up at the 2.75" score line going towards the inside of the card. I trimmed off a little less than 1/4" from the bottom and used a 3/4" circle punch to create a notch before adhering this section. Put strong adhesive on only the two sides. This creates an inside pocket that holds the gift card.

Watch the YouTube process video for a better description and to see how this gift card holder is put together. It's actually pretty easy. I'm definitely going to use this for gift cards I'm gifting this Christmas.

Christmas Gift Tags; CutCardStock Project

Do you make your own gift tags for Christmas? Making gift tags is one of my favorite things to do during the holiday season.

I'm gifting mini-bundt cakes to my coworkers and of course I cannot gift them without a super cute gift tag. And since I'll have all the supplies out, I'll make lots more to have ready for gift giving!

Each layer is cut using a variety of colored cardstock from CutCardStock. Once they are cut, be sure to layer the complete project before adding adhesive. I always do this to ensure adhesive doesn't get on the wrong area.

Using a combination of liquid & foam adhesive and double sided tape gives these tags interest and dimension.

So does a white pen and glitter marker!

Aren't these so cute? I found the images on Cricut Design Space by contributing artist, ByDerowen.

CutCardStock used:  Wedding Cake White, Black Licorice, Pewter, Red Pepper, Orange Fizz and Jet Stream
Patterned Paper from Close To My Heart

TGIF; Thankful Friday #294

Happy Thankful Friday! I had my second shingles shot on Monday and then my cold just got the best of me on Tuesday so I took the day off.

This week, I'm thankful for taking a day off. I slept in, took a nap and still went to bed at 8:30. I've always been a good sleeper and I am thankful for that.

This week was also my middle granddaughter's 4th birthday and the baby turned 4 months this week. They are getting so big! The eldest better watch out! They are catching up to her!

I hope you had a good week and you are healthy and happy.

Flora & Fauna; Rediscover Your Stash IG Hop

Hi there, I joined a new FaceBook group called Rediscover Your Stash and decided to join their IG Hop this Friday. For November, the stash to bash is flora and fauna.

I don't use a lot of florals in my scrapbooking so I didn't have lots of flowers to bash, but I did have these photos of the girls at the poinsettia farm in 2021. So I searched for anything poinsettia in my  Christmas embellishment tin.

I found these and some random Christmas trees. Yup, that works! Add some enamel dots and it's all good!

I used a solid green cardstock for the layout base and some Christmas paper scraps for the two strips of paper. There are so many photos on this layout that I really didn't need much as far as paper and/or embellishments. I hand wrote the title "Poinsettia Farm" on the upper right corner with a black pen mostly because I was too lazy to get my letter stickers or use the Cricut!

I'll have this layout on my IG account @3sons_and_astar and the other IG account participantss so you can follow the hop.

Iron Crafter YT Hop; Washi

You know I love a good challenge and Iron Crafter YT Hop hosted by Piece Craft Love always encourages us to bash our stash. See below for the details:

The mystery challenge ingredient for November is WASHI TAPE.

I saw this sketch from @CassieWiscarson on IG and thought I'd use washi tape where she has paper strips. AND...because I'm in the middle of scrapping Christmas 2021, I gathered my Christmas washi container and went to town!

Check out my video and make sure to hop along with all the other participants!

Join a fun group of crafty peeps each month as we take on the Iron Crafter Challenge! Each month Anna from @piececraftlove or Tara from @thepapersnob will select a challenge ingredient to use on a layout. This hop goes live on the THIRD FRIDAY of the month. We will have a hop on YouTube and Instagram to show how we used the challenge ingredient(s) for the month. The mystery item for the month will be announced on the first of each month.

Dollar Tree Personalized Ornament/Gift Tag

If you recall, I made these last year to add to my granddaughter's Christmas gifts. Well, guess what? We have a new granddaughter and of course she needs one too!

I saw they had these already out at my local Dollar Tree so I snagged as many as they had (nine). I don't usually do that, but I know many people commented on them last year.

This is a pretty easy personalization project since all I did was cut out her name from HTV and then iron it on. Sound simple...but it is a little tricky since the ornament is puffy so it is a little hard to get a good solid press in.

Thankfully using the Mini Press helps this go a little smoother.

Check out the quick video I filmed HERE.

Gingerbread Man Money Holder

Do you struggle on what to gift teens and young adults?  Well, you know that cash is always a good idea but cash presented with this cute money holder is even better!

I uploaded the Gingerbread Man Money Holder D114 from Printable Cuttable Creatables into Cricut Design Space. Once the flaps are attached, cut each piece out and then adhere the front to the back. It’s that easy!

Be sure to check out this and other projects from the Design Team on the Printable Cuttable Creatables Blog.

SNS #285 Layout

You know I love a multi-photo scrapbooking layout and this sketch has room for three but of course I added more. This layout has five photos! Sketch n Scrap posts two single page layout and two card sketches per month and I just love them.

Here's sketch #285 for November:

And here's my layout:

I love how colorful it is. I used four different patterned papers! I used white for the partial circle on top plus made it my journaling spot.

A sticker cluster and different font title makes this layout super festive.

With the exception of the letter stickers, everything on this layout is from the Happy Wishes paper pad from DCWV. I bought this at Tuesday Morning years ago.

Be sure to go to Sketch n Scrap for all your sketches and inspiration. You can find them on their blog or Facebook challenge page.
