Pumpkin Spice Season

Are you a pumpkin spice lover? I like it but I can only take so much of it. But also know that I am the same person who doesn't like things that have too much flavor. LOL  My kids think I'm crazy, but I always like things "a little watered down".

I posted a question on my IG account asking what type of card I should make. Although I did get some great suggestions, my favorite was a Pumpkin Spice Card. So...here you go!

I uploaded the To Go Coffee Cup SVG from PrintableCuttableCreatables website and the pumpkin was in Cricut Design Space. I love working with the PCC SVGs because she always includes a couple of different versions of the same image. For instance, once might have the offsets and the other may not, etc.

I also searched within Cricut Design Space for any Pumpkin Spice quotes/sentiments. Once I found some that I liked. I made some adjustments and then flattened them. I used the Print then Cut feature to create sentiments for these cards.

Aren't' they so fun? I would never have thought to make Pumpkin Spice cards!

Watch the process video here:

Products Used:

Painted Pot

Have you purchased planters lately? Dang, they are expensive! Even plain ones. I saw these plain pots for sale at our grocery store for $13 so I bought two!

I love how it turned out! My daughter will be painting the other one.

And here it is in its new home

Such a fun and pretty project!

Tubac AZ Layout

You know I love starting my layouts with a good sketch and this one does not disappoint! This sketch is from Scrapbooking With AnnMarie and I love it!

I used two photos from our trip to Tubac AZ and our meal at a favorite restaurant there. I had to take a photo of the glass bulbs hanging from the ceiling.

See the process video to see how it was made:

Close up of the cluster:

It's so fun making clusters when you have random items that just seem to 'go' with each other. You can see in the video that I grabbed items from different areas (even used a unused drink ticket from my recent 40th high school reunion that I had on my desktop) - they all worked together to make this cluster.

Cluster making tips: I like to make sure that each item touches another one even if it's only a little bit. I think this gives a group effect so it doesn't look like random scattering of items.

Each patterned paper rectangle was cut at 3.5x3".

Products Used:
Patterned Paper:
Pink Carnation and Wedding Cake White cardstock from CutCardStock
Arizona title cut with the Cricut
Cluster elements are from a variety of places (see the video)

TGIF; Thankful Friday #282

Happy Friday! What am I thankful for this week? Let's see...this week I'm thankful for my high school friends. These are friends that I rarely see. We had our 40th high school reunion this past weekend and I wasn't going to go but so glad I decided to go after all.

I'm thankful for these friends because even though I hadn't seen them in over 25 years, we just picked up where we left off and had a great evening.

So, that's what I'm thankful and grateful for...long time friends that you didn't realize you still need in your life!

What about you? What are you thankful for this week? Please share in the comments.

Let's Get Stuffed Layout Featuring Printable Cuttable Creatables

I'm slowing finishing up my 2021 scrapbook layouts & as you can tell, I'm in November so I'm almost there. I used a fun turkey cut file from Printable Cuttable Creatables as a title and embellishment on this two page layout. So cute!

Check out the process YouTube video to see how it came together:

I love using lots of photos on layouts and this one holds six total 4x6 photos!

Thanksgiving 2021, my kiddos had to cook the entire dinner since I couldn't do it. I had cut my finger while carving pumpkins earlier and I cut it so bad that I cut a tendon therefore needing surgery. What a mess! It was hard just relaxing on Thanksgiving morning but at the end of the day, it was really nice and dinner was perfect!

Patterned paper for the left side was cut at 9x10.5 which allows 1.5" border on three sides. The paper was adhered flush on the right side of the cardstock base.

Patterned paper on the right side is cut at 9x12. I used the text feature in Cricut Design Space to create the "blessed" title and used the offset feature three times to emulate the Let's Get Stuffed embellishment on the left side.

This layout is a perfect example of how I scrapbook - lots of photos, embellishments that complement and not overtake them.

Products Used:
Let's Get Stuffed T129 SVG by Printable Cuttable Creatables
Patterned Papers by craftsmart Spiced Pumpkin pad
Cardstock by CutCardStock
Leaf embellishments from The Dollar Tree
Enamel Dots from my stash (mostly from Simple Stories)

Mixed Media Collage Fun

I took part of a trading paper pals event via IG earlier and after putting together the packets to gift, I made some collaged tags using mixed media papers and other goodies. I included these into the packets because this is where I put my name & IG account name.

Just look at what I received!!

Swoon!

Of course I didn't take a picture of the finished tags, but you can see them in the process video below:

After you watch the video, you'll see that I created a tag that I just did not like so I challenged myself to finish it.

What I did for this tag: Putting it together is on the process video but once I went back to it, I added some bright colored tissues from my stash. This adds some color that this tag desperately needed. Then I added some random mark making with metallic and white markers.

Once I did that and after it dried, I drew a leaf shape on a Post-It to make a mask and put white acrylic paint around it. I used a pen to etch in some shapes in the wet paint.

The pink ticket is from my 40th high school reunion. I told my friends I would use them in a project and here it is!

Definitely an improvement!

Sketch n Scrap; Card Sketch #248

Do you have a hard time making masculine cards? I think most of us do but I made one for the Sketch n Scrap card sketch #248 and I love it.

There were scraps of animal prints on my desk so I decided to use them for this card. I also used the back side on one of the papers for the white cardstock. This worked well because the patterned paper was a heavy weighted paper.

The stamp set that was used is from Fun Stampers Journey which is now a part of Spellbinders. I don't know if it's available any longer, but it is a good one!

The image was colored using a variety of alcohol markers and the sentiment used is an older CTMH stamp set.

See the process here:

CutCardStock Layouts; Stick It Down Sketch

The best part of scrapbooking is reliving moments & events when working on layouts. I am putting together an album of our TomKat Strut virtual marathon that started in 2021. I printed most of the photos in smaller sizes so I'll be able to get many on one layout.

All cardstock used is from CutCardStock.com. I used Grey, Red Pepper, Cougar White, Yellow Jacket, Lunar Blue and Blast Off Blue. All the embellishments and title were cut using a Cricut. See below for the list of additional products.

I am using a two page spread sketch from Stick It Down for this one. This is a link to their blog, but they are now on FaceBook only.

Here's the sketch:

And here's the finished layouts:

I love the big title on the right side. I did this by using the Double Back font in Design Space and adding an arrow through it. I welded it together and created an offset for it. I love this font because it sure does emulate movement!

What did I do? After searching for marathon, walking, race in Cricut Design Space, I found some I liked and cut the pieces using cardstock from CutCardStock (see above for colors). I also cut a lot of different sized stars since I thought this shape worked well with the marathon theme.

I cut down the pattern papers to 11x11 and decided to gut the base (grey) cardstock pieces to save some of the paper for matting, etc.

I decided to cut 4.5" squares in red & white to create a grid-like arrangement. I chose lots of different sized photos for these squares and then layered stars in different areas as well as some of the "walking" embellishments. Once this was done, I added white splatter on the red squares.

I used a sparkly blue pen to draw borders around the squares and used the same pen for journaling on journaling strips.

What I used:
Patterned Paper by Stampin Up!
All cardstock from CutCardStock
Embellishments made with the Cricut
White Multi Media Spray by Dina Wakely
Blue Sparkly pen by Cricut
White pen

TGIF; Thankful Friday #281

Happy Thankful Friday! This week I'm thankful for a quiet week. I know, it seems like this should be a regular occurrence since it's really only hubby, DD and I at home but some weeks there's a lot of activity going on. This was not one of them and for that I'm thankful.

The weather is hot and humid and it's making me really tired. I'm thankful that I can go to bed early or take a nap when I get home.

Even though we had two birthdays this week, it was still quiet.

I made these sashes for the girls over the weekend using Infusible Ink and the Cricut. I don't have a lot of this supply, but I do have some. I rarely use it so I am also thankful to use up products and they look SO GOOD!

What are you thankful for this week? Share below in the comments.

Bible Journaling; Baby Girl 3

I haven't did any bible journaling in a long time, but I wanted to do something to record my granddaughters' births. Of course I didn't think of it for the first two, but I do plan on doing something similar.

As you know, I do not have a bible journaling bible. I use my Mom's Devotional Bible and add some color/art in the margins. I don't want to cover any of the versus so I keep mine pretty simple.

The first thing I did was look in the index to find babies as the subject. There were four so I chose the third entry since Jhene is the third grandbaby. Then I grabbed everything pink and baby that I thought I would use and just started playing!

Check out the process video:

I added a flap to add more details and secured it with pink washi tape on both the front & back to create a hinge.

T-shirt Fun

I needed to make some shirts for our "13 going on 30" themed birthday party for DD and GD1 this weekend. We put on the invitation that you should dress as either your 13 year old or 30 year old self.

I chose my 13 year old self which meant 1977 and hubby decided to go with his 30 year old self which was 1990.  I ran out of black vinyl which actually worked out since his shirt looked so good with the white vinyl. And thank goodness for scraps, because I had enough of a scrap to make the letters for my shirt.

And after placing an order on Wednesday for vinyl (since they were 50% off), I received it Saturday morning - pretty impressive Cricut!

Here are our shirts and a photo of us together. I couldn't take a good picture to save my life, but it's all good.

Fun! I just love the tube socks and we realized that Converse was a staple in every decade!

If you decide to make yourself a shirt, be sure to mirror your mats before cutting!

Sketch n Scrap Layout Sketch #279

Here's another great sketch from the Sketch n Scrap site. I love using sketches as a jumping point for layouts and cards. If you agree, be sure to check out the sketches at this site since they have two card and two single page layout sketches every month. Check it out!

This month, I'm working with sketch #279

Back in November 2021, my family did a Hot Ones Challenge. Basically, it's trying ten different kinds of hot sauce from hot to HOT on chicken wings.

I do not do spicy so I knew I wasn't going to participate, so being a photographer was good enough for me.  My family was getting delirious from the hot spices and it was so fun to watch. Between silliness and just sickness, it was something else! My daughter-in-law created a playlist of hot/fire songs that we played while they were eating...brave souls!

I have lots of photos so I'm going to use this single page sketch as a introduction page to all the other layouts.

I used solid cardstock for all the papers on this layout and some super cute embellishments given to me (the image is also in Design Space).  I love the line of flames right above the photos! Isn't that so fun?! Now to add a title using Hello Babe font in Design Space and it's done.

Be sure to link your layouts (and cards) at the Sketch n Scrap blog or join the Facebook group for lots of inspiration!
