Ready to Paint Canvas

This Doodle Mushroom Garden cut file from Printable Cuttable Creatables was perfect to add to a dollar store canvas using HTV. Once I uploaded the file, I removed the two complete images and kept the line drawn image.

I ungrouped the total image and played with the images to create two different groupings for two different canvases.

Once I knew which images were going to be on each canvas, I grouped all images except the butterflies, bottom aligned and then attached them. I wanted them to cut exactly as shown. But keep the butterflies unattached so they would be placed to fill the canvas.

Once they were cut and weeded, I used my Easy Press to adhere to the canvas.

I set the temp at 375 and pressed at 45 seconds twice for it to completely adhere to the canvas. Use a lot of pressure to ensure adhesion.

And, there was definitely an odor coming from it. It stung my eyes!

But the final result is worth it!

Customized Dollar Tree Elves

When I first saw these elves years ago, I couldn't figure out why they were such a big deal. I mean, they are cute, don't get me wrong but ok...  Then I saw some on a recent trip to the Dollar Tree and thought, hmmm, I'll buy a couple.

Oh my...now I get it! They are adorable! I need to go back and get some more because I now want to customize them for every child I know! 

Using the Mini Press from Cricut made pressing these small letters and images easy and took less than a few minutes to add the HTV to all three areas for all four elves.

ps:  The background is a small portion of the painted wrapping paper that my granddaughters, daughter and I painted earlier this week. So cute and such a fun project for all ages!

12 Days of Christmas Tags Series 2024; Day Six

Day Six and these are probably my favorite so far. It's hard to pick because I love them all. I pulled out the Sizzix Sidekick and some dies I purchased from Scrapbooking.com last year  These polar bears are so adorable and the addition of the black and white wooden beads give these tags a homespun look.

Hot Wheels Holder; Dollar Tree Updo

I love a good updo and this is one of my favorites! I bought a six car Hot Wheels holder from my local Dollar Tree and decided to personalize it for my nephew. He loves cars and they travel a lot so the case itself is perfect for him to carry on road trips and/or plane rides, but add personalization and WOW! Game Changer!

I use the BFC Celebrate font and I love it! The flame and tire images are from Cricut Design Space. I'm sharing the link to this and it will be editable so you can change the name to fit your needs.  Another thing I did was slice the hubcap from the tire. When working with vinyl, it's best to not stack layers.

If you cannot find this particular box, you can personalize any plastic container and resize as needed.

Merry Christmas in July; Day Two

Day Two of the Merry Christmas in July series is another Cricut project. I purchased some night lights from my local dollar store to decorate "one day". Well, today's the day!

I used Mod Podge to adhere two layers of red glitter to the back of the clear panel making sure to let each layer dry before adding the next. I don't often use glitter and every time I do, I remind myself why I don't. It gets everywhere! Be sure to put a coat of Mod Podge as the final layer of the glitter.

I have a glitter tray that I purchased from Queen & Company and it helps keep most glitter tamed.

 

Because of the dark red background, I had to add a white base under the camera lens and change my red letters to white.

Isn't it so cute?

Gnome Fun Fold Birthday Cards

Have you checked out your local dollar stores for crafty supplies? I'm telling you, the Dollar Tree in my town is bursting with great supplies. Recently I found some 6x6 paper pads so I bought one. There were others, but even at $1.25, it's not a bargain unless you know you are going to use it! 

Honestly, I don't know if the paper is acid free and all that, but for card use, $1.25 for a pad of 24 sheets of paper!?! Heck ya - that's a deal!

I decided to make some cards using the paper and they turned out so cute! I found the card design from Klompen Stampers Blog. You can find the dimensions there as well as a quick look in my own YouTube process video.

I used gnome stamps from Close To My Heart and colored them in using alcohol markers from my stash. Cardstock is from CutCardStock and the other patterned papers are just from my scraps.

This card is a little different since the base is not folded but the small card placed in the triangle pocket is. It's a great place to put your greeting and a gift card if desired.

Pismo Beach Layout; Printable Cuttable Creatables

Hey there. I’m sharing a scrapbooking layout using the Seagull on Pier E300 cut file from Printable Cuttable Creatables (PCC) website.

Are you a scrapbooker?  Do you create your own embellishments for your layouts?  I love using my Cricut and cut files to do just that! 

The Seagull on Pier cut file has a multitude of choices you can use on your projects. In fact, all the cut files I have purchased and used from PCC do.  You definitely get your money’s worth when purchasing cut files from Printable Cuttable Creatables!

I decided to use the large layered seagull on a single post but I also wanted the flying single layer seagulls to sprinkle around my layout background.

When working with multiple layers on a cut file, the best tip I can give is to lay the pieces out prior to applying adhesive.  This helps with placement and helps avoid putting adhesive on the wrong sides. Just so you know, I had to tear layers apart because I didn't take my own advice. Oops!

Here’s my double page layout.  I used the large seagull as the main embellishment, single layer seagulls on the background and for the journaling block.

I had five total 4x6 photos for this two page spread. I searched for a good layout to incorporate all these 4x6's and found the sketch on THIS blog. I'm definitely bookmarking this one because I love lots of photos on my scrapbook pages!

I decided to pull out some stamps for the title and then came across some sentiment stamps that are made for memory keeping. With the stickers from The Dollar Tree and those stamps, I LOVE this layout. It's everything I love about scrapbooking!

Dollar Tree Personalized Ornament/Gift Tag

If you recall, I made these last year to add to my granddaughter's Christmas gifts. Well, guess what? We have a new granddaughter and of course she needs one too!

I saw they had these already out at my local Dollar Tree so I snagged as many as they had (nine). I don't usually do that, but I know many people commented on them last year.

This is a pretty easy personalization project since all I did was cut out her name from HTV and then iron it on. Sound simple...but it is a little tricky since the ornament is puffy so it is a little hard to get a good solid press in.

Thankfully using the Mini Press helps this go a little smoother.

Tubac AZ Layout

You know I love starting my layouts with a good sketch and this one does not disappoint! This sketch is from Scrapbooking With AnnMarie and I love it!

I used two photos from our trip to Tubac AZ and our meal at a favorite restaurant there. I had to take a photo of the glass bulbs hanging from the ceiling.

It's so fun making clusters when you have random items that just seem to 'go' with each other. You can see in the video that I grabbed items from different areas (even used a unused drink ticket from my recent 40th high school reunion that I had on my desktop) - they all worked together to make this cluster.

Cluster making tips: I like to make sure that each item touches another one even if it's only a little bit. I think this gives a group effect so it doesn't look like random scattering of items. 

Each patterned paper rectangle was cut at 3.5x3".

Let's Get Stuffed Layout Featuring Printable Cuttable Creatables

I'm slowing finishing up my 2021 scrapbook layouts & as you can tell, I'm in November so I'm almost there. I used a fun turkey cut file from Printable Cuttable Creatables as a title and embellishment on this two page layout. So cute!

I love using lots of photos on layouts and this one holds six total 4x6 photos! 

Thanksgiving 2021, my kiddos had to cook the entire dinner since I couldn't do it. I had cut my finger while carving pumpkins earlier and I cut it so bad that I cut a tendon therefore needing surgery. What a mess! It was hard just relaxing on Thanksgiving morning but at the end of the day, it was really nice and dinner was perfect!

Patterned paper for the left side was cut at 9x10.5 which allows 1.5" border on three sides. The paper was adhered flush on the right side of the cardstock base.

Patterned paper on the right side is cut at 9x12. I used the text feature in Cricut Design Space to create the "blessed" title and used the offset feature three times to emulate the Let's Get Stuffed embellishment on the left side.

This layout is a perfect example of how I scrapbook - lots of photos, embellishments that complement and not overtake them.

Easter Bunny Banner; CutCardStock

Every new season dictates a new banner when you're a crafter! I created this one using all CutCardStock papers and my Cricut. I love the weight and color varieties of paper that CutCardStock has to offer. The list of colors that I used for this banner is listed below.

I purchased the wooden beads for my local dollar store and they add a little something special to the fun banner. 

All the images are in Design Space and are free if you are a Cricut Access member like I am. I did a little work to the carrots by:

• Duplicating the image; on the duplicate, keep only the orange carrot portion
• On the original; weld together both the greenery & carrot; change the welded piece to green

Now the orange carrot lays directly on the green base. This added a little more weight and by adding a white overlay, that made it less flimsy on the banner. I made five of these carrots - two of them I flipped so the indentations went the opposite way. I also dry embossed small polka dots & used foam adhesive to layer the carrots. So cute!

The bunnies are as is since they are so darn cute! Don't you love the oversized noses? Adorable! Before I start adhering cut images together, I always like to lay them out so I know where they go. This avoids adhesive mess and makes putting them together quick & easy.
