New Dish Towels; VIDA

How awesome are these dish towels? Yes, that's my art...you may recall seeing it HERE in my junk journal.

So, I know I've mentioned it before, but I do have some clothing, purses and other items for sale on an online store, VIDA (click on the icon to the right to get to my shop).

Art Pouches

It's been awhile since I mentioned my shop in VIDA.

VIDA is an organization that makes clothes, scarves, bags, etc from designers all over the world. Some even famous - not me (hee hee).

These pouches are approximately 7 x 9" and are perfect to hold your art supplies. They are made with a sturdy canvas like material with the same design on both sides. I use them to hold my paint markers on a regular basis and use them to put my art supplies when I'm traveling. They have a small pocket in the side as well.

Lovin' Life

Final Project:



This piece had many stages before I finally finished.  All these flowers started as blobs of color and I saw leaves and flowers in there.  So I grabbed my white correction pen and a black fine point pen and doodled around the color blobs to emulate leaves and flowers.  I added the black stencils to add some black to the page.  This was one stage before the final doodles, dots, marks, sentiment, etc., were added.  I used the "stamping on tissue paper" technique for the sentiment again on this one.  Loving that idea!

Awesome Wrap!

This is the Just Be Fancy wrap.  One of my friends & coworkers purchased this wrap so I have seen it up close and personal but it looks so pretty when it's professionally photographed!

More Gelli Prints

Today I allowed myself to just play.  I've been working on so many projects lately, it was nice to just play!

Here are a few gelli prints I pulled today:

I'm looking forward to using them in some VIDA designs and eventually turning them into card backgrounds.  After I put all these supplies away, I forgot that I purchased 2" circle labels/stickers for this very reason.  I guess I'm going to have to play more later!

My VIDA Designs - A Fashion Show

I'm loving the clothing line with my designs.  Just the fact that the labels have my signature and hometown are enough to make it super cool!  I did a little selfie fashion show and actually liked the photos.  Some of the blouses are my mom's so they are not my size, but I hope you can see how amazing they are!

FUN!!

ICADS Completed! Now What?!?

Whew!  There were times I didn't think I'd get through it and other times I couldn't get enough, but I'm so glad I fell upon this challenge site and so glad I saw it through.

Oh what fun it is to do a little something creative each day!  It was pretty cool pushing myself to just go for it.  Rubber Paws' stamps sure did save me a lot on these prompts.  I used stamps I haven't used since they have been gifted to me. Read more about Rubber Paws by clicking on her label to the right.

I used the MISTI a lot during this time as well.  WOW!  Is it the Most Incredible Stamping Tool Invented?  Yes, I'll vote yes.  Especially when stamping on a warped surface.  I loved being able to multi-stamp an image knowing the placement is perfect each time.

Some are making their way onto card fronts, others are being put on my VIDA collections clothing line (see below) and others will be matted and framed.

I know most will be in a container in the Command Center, but that's ok too.  I think it'll be pretty cool to look back at them from time to time.  

Some Kind of Love

I mentioned earlier about my designs on clothing pieces.  I received my first order over the weekend.  Here's a photo of me wearing the Some Kind of Love t-shirt.  I love it!  I love the style and fit of the boyfriend knit t-shirt and of course LOVE the design!

Week Three; ICAD #15, 16, and 17

So far I'm loving the prompts this week!

Prompt #15
Bouquet
Ok, I'll admit it, I really don't know how to draw.  I love hand drawn flowers but just can't do it.  After applying gesso to the index card, I added random watercolored circles of yellow, orange, red and purple.  Then I drew in green stems and leaves at the bottom and around the "flowers".  Once all those dried, I added blue in the open areas.  Then I used various pens to outline the different flowers.  I spritzed the card with a little bit of water to help the colors/paint blend into each other.  (If you like this piece, check out this LINK to purchase a blouse with this design.  My designs are for sale at VIDA.)

Prompt #16

Wallpaper

I've wanted to draw these type of flowers for awhile and I thought they would make a great wallpaper so I did it.  I love how it turned out!  I used watercolor pens to color in the  flowers and once the flowers were done, I drew the blue pen on my craft mat and added water.

Prompt #17

Landscape

This one started as a little hilltop, blue sky & green grass.  Then I added the stamped trees...ok...it's a little boring, but it's a landscape.  Then I got this great idea to draw and attach toes as if someone is sitting back, legs stretched and gazing at the beautiful landscape.  I thought it was hilarious!!

It's not too late to join in the Index Card A Day challenge.  It goes on for 61 days originally to start on June 1st and go through July, but technically you can start anytime (which is what I did).
