A place to showcase my crafts and talk about it...what's better than that? I hope to inspire and encourage others to create things for themselves, friends and family.
Thanks to an online class I took, I used some washi to make a couple of cards. They were so easy and turned out so cute!
Here they are:
I love the fully covered Washi card with a sentiment. Super easy and super cute. You can imagine the variety of cards from just changing the sentiment and washi tapes.
I hope this encourages you to use your tape to make some fun and easy cards!
Wow! Can you believe I used 12 different pieces of cardstock and two patterned papers for this layout!?! I love these layered flowers and the faux polaroid embellishment! Selecting two different tones of colors for the flowers were easy with the multi packs from cutcardstock. I have a list below of the different colors that were used.

Some close ups:
I used my Cricut to cut the embellishments and it was so worth it! Don't you love it? CutCardstock paper is so easy to use with the Cricut - it cuts so smoothly! I adore the Curious Metallic in champagne. It's hard to see from these photos, but there is a beautiful metallic sheen to it.

Happy Thankful Friday! This week I'm thankful to be a mom. It's a good feeling that even when your kiddos are young adults, they still need their mama. I should already know that because there are plenty of times that I still need mine. Mom's are so important and sometimes so underappreciated.
So thanks to all the mamas! Do something for yourself this weekend - YOU deserve it!
What are you thankful for this week? Let me know in the comments.
I leave you with this...my daughter and I took my youngest granddaughter to the park and we all decided to roll down the hill. OMG! It was so fun and funny!
We didn't throw a traditional big first birthday party for Daisy because of COVID, but we still had fun and took a ton of photos.
I started off created layouts but then quickly decided to use the pocket page layout instead. I didn't do a lot of journaling with these, mostly filled the pockets with photos, but I did create a quick video to show my process.
Select photo placement first and then build on each "pocket" layout. I like to keep it pretty simple with punches and a few embellishments so I hope you like it. I hope you find inspiration to make your own pocket pages within your 12x12 albums. I love how it adds variety to the album and keeps them from being too thick!
The pattern papers are from Echo Park Magical Birthday collection. This paper is SO CUTE!
I also used a Mickey Head Punch from EK Success, Tab Punch by We R Memory Keepers and some Minnie & Daisy stickers from my stash.
Cake toppers are so fun to make and they are all about the layers. I was commissioned to make one for a 15th birthday with some “Cinderella” birds holding the name banner in a variety of blues.
This is what I came up with. I wasn’t sure about the blue flowers but that was also what was requested. Once I put everything together, I loved it so much!
There is dusty blue glitter paper, metallic silver, and a variety of heavy card-stock on this project. Four layers of dimensional adhesive too!
The rolled flowers were cut at 3.25” and the leaves were cut from a punch that was purchased from Stampin’ Up!
Once the design is created in Design Space, I grouped them together and then duplicated it. On the duplicated grouping, I welded it in order to create a base. From the base, create an offset for the shadow. I show this in the process YouTube video. Check it out!
Let me know if you have any questions. It can be confusing but once you get the hang of it, it all makes sense!
I love the sketches on the Sketch N Scrap blog. This card sketch was an easy one so I tried to push myself to make it extra special
I received this potted plant stamp free when I placed an order with Altenew. I decided to make my own patterned paper and colored the images in using alcohol markers. I used scraps for the other blue papers. I love how it turned out.

Happy Friday! Another week passed and another week to be thankful for. This week I'm thankful for my new position at work. I'm not sure if I even announced it here, but as of March 1st, I changed positions.
I'm still learning a lot and will be for awhile, but it's so different from what I was doing and I'm thankful for many reasons. Mostly just happy that this is a slower paced position with less duties but the salary is higher! Win Win for me!
Here's a snapshot of a corner of my cubicle:
I'm happy that my plant seems happy!

Just showing off an easy spread I completed in my Junk Journal. I'm filming a second round of flip throughs for YouTube and I'm reintroducing myself to some "unfinished" pages. This was one. When I looked at it, it reminded me of a stack of books so that's what I made them.
Check out the YouTube video below:
Here are some photos:
The video stops before I add the bubble wrap marks. I love these additions because it looks so much more "junk journalish". (I love that I can just make up words here!)
Be sure to check out the Junk Journal flip throughs and process videos by checking the Junk Journal playlist on YouTube.
I've said it before and I'll say it again...I love working with sketches for an easy starting point. Sketch n Scrap posts two layout and two card sketches a month and they are fabulous!
This week, I'm showing off a layout I made using Sketch #245. This layout was pretty basic - I probably should have chosen different papers and embellishments but then I had a cool idea! I journaled on the entire background piece!
I didn't take a photo of the layout prior to writing, but if you watch the YouTube process video, you can see it there. I did take a screen shot, and you can tell it needed some excitement.
I decided on a pencil because I didn't want the journaling "in your face". More of a design element. I love how it turned out! The video also shows how I put together the title and finished the layout.
It is pretty easy and not a lot going on but it may be one of my favorite pages!
Be sure to click on over to Sketch n Scrap to see all the great sketches!
YAY! I received my goodies from CutCardStock and had fun making this fun & cute layout of my granddaughter and her first birthday! The sketch is from the Scrapbooking With AnnMarie site and it was super easy to put together.
The cardstock I used is listed below. If you place an order with CutCardStock, you can use my affiliate code which is embedded in this LINK. It doesn't change the price for you, but I get a small commission on it. How cool is that?
The colors I used coordinated so perfectly with the Magical Birthday collection from Echo Park. It's actually a pretty simple layout and I added some hand drawn bows, some splatter and sequins to pretty it up!
The bottom layer, Wedding Cake was gutted after I used the paper to cut the mat for Mickey ears.
Here's how it looks on the front view:
I like to do this when the two layered pieces are heavy to avoid too much thickness plus you can always use white cardstock!
I used my "L" ruler to make sure those strips lined up on the sides and also for photo placement.
Here's a close up of the sparkle and splatter!
Be sure to visit my post on the CutCardStock blog and leave a comment or two!
TGIF and Happy Thankful Friday! This week I'm thankful for family. My sister's birthday was last Saturday and she worked in a trip to CA on her birthday. We had a lot of fun over the weekend and it was so good to see my mom too.
Then, my nephew from NV spent a few days with us - in fact, he's still here! I love that we have a big and welcoming home so we can house out of state visitors.
What are you thankful for this week? Leave your comment below!
I love challenging myself and this was a good one! The challenge is for a monochromatic layout with a neutral. I chose green and continued with photos for my Hiking 2020 album.
Here are some photos:
Different angles:
The spread is pretty basic as I didn't add a lot of embellishments but I did pull out the Cricut for the moose and title. I used the tree cut outs from the title to create another cluster above the journaling spot. I added some brown color splashes, enamel dots and washi tapes. Oh, I almost forgot about the cork arrows as well!
I filmed the process if you're interested in watching me put this together:
I used a sketch book from Close To My Heart to create the base and that's why I didn't include the measurements but it's pretty simple to figure out on your own. I did decide to keep the 1/2" strips at 12" to add a little interest.
I'm entering this layout in the Heart2Heart CTMH challenge blog since I used lots of CTMH products to complete it and also the Double Trouble challenge blog since they are teaming up this month. Both sites have GREEN as their challenge.
CTMH Products Used:
All Cardstock (browns, greens & vanilla)
Patterned Paper
From Your Heart Volume 3 Sketch #9
Other Products Used:
Color Silk from FSJ/Spellbinders
Green patterned papers, enamel dots & washi tapes from my stash
I gotta tell ya...I love this card. The bunnies are so sweet and coloring them in was so easy using alcohol markers!
I have not invested in expensive Copic markers but purchase alcohol markers in sets at Tuesday Morning, Ross and other discount stores. To me they do the same job and look just as good. The key is using a light, medium and dark shade when coloring.
Check out the quick video...I even show my face in this one!
Products Used:
Stamp Set: CTMH
Markers: Variety of generic alcohol markers
Ink: Archival Black
Sparkle and Outrageous Pink Color Silks from FSJ of Spellbinders
This week I'm thankful for another great series on Netflix. Hubby and I just watched the Kristen Bell series 'The Woman Across The Street From The Girl In The Window'. It is really entertaining - a little off, a little suspenseful, and a little mysterious but definitely worth watching!
What about you? What are you thankful for this week? Have you watched any new series? Please share in the comments!
Do you use pocket page protectors in your 12x12 albums? I realized that I didn't use many for my 2020 album. Sure, it's November (in the album), but it's not too late to add one or two!
I love these pocket page protectors to add a variety of styles in my albums and they are great for occasions where there are lots of photos to be scrapped! Or in this case, I had one photo and didn't want to create a full 12x12 page for it.
I followed a sketch by AnnMarie in her scrapbooking site - go to the site HERE - and adjusted it for a 6x6 page. I think it worked well. I was able to get most of the elements on the layout as well as some punched shapes for embellishments and even a title!
I had to cut down the photo of my granddaughter a little but it all worked!
Check out the YouTube process video:
The backside will include a photo or two of my November Month In Review layout.
Check out this cool baseball cap giftbox I made for my son's birthday! The cut file is free with a Cricut Access subscription and the nice thing is that it came with instructions!
Of course, I personalized it by changing the colors and adding the SF logo to the cap. Isn't it fantastic! I can't wait to make more of these.
I'll be honest, it was a little difficult to put it together and thankfully, Cricut did have instructions to follow. I filmed the process since I figured everyone would like a visual...check it out below:
