Swarm of Bees Canvases

I provided three art sessions for my work's Professional Development Day on the 1st. It was bee themed and it was fun creating all these canvases during the live event (there were three plus the sample). Now I have a swarm and will hang them all together on my art wall at home.

Check the YouTube video for instructions. Unfortunately I didn't film when I created the background but basically, I took white, blue and later black to cover the front light in the middle and darker as it went towards the edges. And never forget the sides!

Here are the bees:

TGIF; Thankful Friday #341

Hey there. Yes I know it's Sunday but it's not too late to post for Thankful Friday! Can you believe it's November? I have lots to be thankful for this week as the week had so many activities. I taught three art sessions on Friday for work staff development day and I'm thankful for the opportunity to do that.

I used bees and hives as the inspiration for this team building event and it was well received. And now I have FOUR bee canvases!

What are you thankful for this week?

LTCCB; Anything Goes

Hi there, it's time for another six week challenge over at the Love To Craft Challenge Blog. You can see all sorts of projects since this is an Anything Goes and all crafts qualify challenge. Be sure to check out the blog! This challenge goes from November 1st to December 15th. Plenty of time to get your project linked! I've just been notified that the LTCCB may be ending. The current owner of the challenge blog is looking for someone to take it over. Read more about it on the blog and definitely reach out if you are interested!

For this challenge, we had the option of using a cute penguin digi stamp from Polka Doodles for our project. I chose yes! I mean, how cute is this little guy?! If you saw my card from the last challenge, this card will look familiar. I basically followed the same process.

I used a fun painty book page and a sewn strip of paper and adhered it to the front of my card base, colored the penguin with some markers and added a wintery sentiment in the inside. I also used my fingers to roll the top of some of those "waves" on the book pages to give it some more dimension.

I wasn't sure how to color this penguin in since I didn't want it just a flat black so I just scribbled with a black marker and it gave a really cute & messy look. I hope you agree.

This was a really simple card since I have a container with random painty papers just waiting to be used. I just had to grab a few elements and adhere. It doesn't get much easier than that!

Now it's your turn. Check out the LTCCB page and then link up your own crafty project!
