Hey Ghoul Hey Card

Hi there. I'm back sharing a fun Halloween card using Cute Monster Bride cut file from Printable Cuttable Creatables. This is one of many Halloween characters available in the Cute Halloween Faces set.

Instead of adhering her directly on the card, I thought she'd be cute in a Polaroid frame. Once I uploaded the Monster Bride into Design Space, I created the frame by stacking a rectangle and a square on top of each other and then slicing.

Before I forget, I copied the rectangle to create the base/background for the open frame.

After stacking all the pieces, I used liquid adhesive to glue the pieces together. I used thin foam adhesive to place her inside of the frame.

The sentiment, Hey Ghoul Hey, came from Design Space and I used the print then cut feature since the letters are pretty small.

Halloween patterned paper from my stash was used to add more fun to the cards.

TGIF; Thankful Friday #385

TGIF and another week to be thankful. This week we celebrated two birthdays. My daughter-in-law and hubby. October is such a great month to have a birthday.

The thing I'm thankful for this month is hanging out with the ladies in my family. We went to the Renaissance Festival and enjoyed it. It's always nice to get away and enter another land. Next year we all need to dress up!

What about you? What are you thankful for this week?

Owl Le Lu Jah Acetate Card; Jenlee Schoolcraft

What do I say about this card? I love it! I guess that's it. LOL

I've never made an acetate card before and I felt like this image from Stampendous that was given to me for the Jenlee Schoolcraft Design Team was perfect for one. The size is a little too big for your standard A2 card but I knew I wanted to do something special with it.

After coloring the image with an assortment of alcohol markers and adding some glitter and white highlights, I fussy cut the image.

The card is 5x7. The green cardstock is 7x6" with 1" score on the 6" side. (I cut mine 7x10 with the 5" score line and then trimmed 4" off one side.)

Acetate is cut at 5x7 and adhered to the inside of the 1" flap.

Cut a piece of the leftover green cardstock at 1.25" to adhere to the front bottom for stability.

Pattern paper is adhered to the inside as well as a circle placed behind the owl image and directly behind that on the pattern paper.

Watch the YouTube process video to see how this card was made.

Welcome to Rainbow Crush – a Social Media hop where we share projects that feature a color of the rainbow each month! This hop is hosted by Tara on her Facebook Group.  Anyone is welcome to play along.  This hop takes place on the  2nd Wednesday of the month!  The color for October is to use orange.

You can sign for the next month’s hop over on the The Paper Snob Community Facebook group:

Adding Signature in Design Space

As you may or may not know, my mom passed away earlier this year and with some money we received, I decided to treat myself to a BOGG bag. I picked one in her favorite color, purple, and wanted to personalize it more.

I searched for a greeting card that my mom signed and took a picture of her signature. Once I did that, I uploaded it into Design Space.

Watch the YT video on how to do this yourself.

I love the multi-layer option because it made the image clean up so easy! I also needed to thicken up her signature and using the offset function really helped with that.

The bag is complete and I love it!

TGIF; Thankful Friy#384

It's Friday and time to let you know what I'm thankful for this week. We had a wedding this week on a Thursday. The weather predicted rain, thunder, and lightning. It's an outdoor venue.

Yes, we got rain and thankfully that's all. It rained early and ended up being a beautiful evening!

That’s what I'm thankful for. A beautiful wedding in the middle of the week!

September Junk Calendar

So, I did a thing! I saw this idea while scrolling through social media and thought I'd try it for September. You know what I found out...I eat out a lot! I really tried to add things that were not food related LOL

The idea is to create a calendar in the Junk Journal and add a piece of "junk" on each day that match that day's event(s).

I probably should have decorated the surroundings before adding the junk, but I did mine afterwards and I love it! I don't think I'll do this every month because after a while it loses its quirkiness, but I do like it.

Watch the YouTube video on the daily process and the finishing touches.

Whatcha think? Cool, right?

Do you think this is something you'd try?

Paint for P.R.I.D.E. Event

I've been holding more events so I figured I should have a label for them.

This was a fun canvas to paint and everyone did a great job personalizing their paintings.

I added the quote once I got home to complete it.

An article from our local paper:

I was very happy and surprised to see this.

TGIF; Thankful Friday #383

Happy Friday! I hope you have lots of fun things planned for the weekend and that the weather is perfect for it!

This week I'm thankful for family time. My cousin had a prom themed birthday party last weekend and it was so fun. The guests really prepared for it with matching outfits and corsages! It was great seeing everyone so fancy.

Every time I'm with cousins and family, I realize how much I miss them. I'm truly blessed to have such an amazing family on both sides.

What are you thankful for this week? Please share in the comments.

Paint Water Cup

I love to go to thrift stores and yard sales to find stuff I can updo. This mug was one of those finds. I love the orange on the handle and inside of it. *

I decided to make it my permanent paint water cup. To do that, I went to the Printable Cuttable Creatables website and found two cut files. One is Artist Painting Easel and Wet Paint Splotches. Wet Paint Splotches is a free cut file. Can you believe it?

After uploading the easel file, I ungrouped the image and only kept the paint brush. I sized everything to my liking and then prepared the mats.

When using vinyl scraps and small cuts, save yourself some time and arrange the different colors onto one mat.

Weed...

Rub the mug with alcohol with a cotton ball or lint free cloth and let it dry before adding the vinyl.

Check out the YT Short for a Quick look at how it was done!

Be sure to use 3SONS15 coupon code for 15% off your order at Printable Cuttable Creatables.

*Note: I used nail polish remover to remove the logo that was on the mug.

Side Step Fun Fold Card

Y'all know I love a fun fold card and this was a good one. I've made a side step card before but it's been years. I had to pull out some old directions!  lol

Since I'm a Design Team member for Jenlee Schoolcraft webstore, I received beautiful embellishments by Photo Play called Mad 4 Plaid. I used these to make this holiday card.

I pulled a piece of kraft paper with gold dots and some twine to finish the card.

Watch the process video to make your own!

Cutting:
5.5 x 8.5" cardbase
Slice between 2 and 7.5" from 2.5" on the 5.5" side
score at 2, 4, 5.25, 6.5, and 7.5 on the 8.5" side from the 2.5" slit
Score on the opposite of the 2.5" slit at 4.25"

Fun Fold Easel Card with a Twist

Earlier this month was National Teddy Bear Day and I created some cards for an Instagram hop. I grabbed some 6x6 papers that gave a cozy feel.

Can you believe this three layer stamp was on a Trash/Treasure table? I'm so glad I got it and don't worry, I'm always adding items to those tables because I know that I'm always checking stuff out there!

Details:
Cardstock base 4.25x11; scored at 1, 2, and 6.5"
Cardstock 1.75x11; scored at 5.5"
PP 4x4.25; 3/4x4 and 1.5x 5.25

Adhere the pattern papers to the Cardstock as shown in the process video.

I punched a 2.75" circle to add the bear to and adhere to the middle Cardstock strip.

Here's the video:

TGIF; Thankful Friday #382

Hi there and happy Thankful Friday! This week I'm thankful for a low key week. I think the weather is getting to me because I've been feeling kinda blah this week.

The temps are lower and there's definitely moisture in the air. Don't get me wrong, I love the fall but the change in weather always gets me.

Birthday Layout

Another colorful and photo heavy birthday layout of my daughter and granddaughter. It's so fun to remain in theme when creating our layouts.

I like using sketches to start the process especially when I'm feeling a little unsure where to start. This was an easy sketch to follow but of course I changed some things. I got this sketch from the 100 Pattern Paper Challenge group on Facebook.

The stickers really helped make this layout fabulous! Speaking of fabulous, the title was cut using my Cricut. Super simple!

Watch the process video on my YouTube channel.

No need for journaling since this is the second of three double page spreads of this party. To see the first video, click HERE

Creative Hand; Junk Journal

Hey there! I'm not even sure what to call this but I created a colorful and meaningful opening page in my junk journal. I was inspired by a lesson by Eulalia Mejia who is a mixed media artist that I love.

The first thing I did was pull out random junk papers that had a white background. My favorite is one of my old elementary report cards. Then I painted on them. The next steps can be viewed below.

Using a fine tip applicator and white acrylic paint was so easy. I don't know why I didn't try this before. I have such poor luck when using white pens, this was an easy alternative!
