Engagement Party Invitations

Our baby boy is getting married!  We're hosting the Engagement Party in July so I'm going to busy making decorations, etc for the event.  Here are the completed invitations.  They are getting married in Vegas next year so we're making the party a Vegas theme.

Krystal, my future daughter-in-law purchased these large playing cards and we just wrote on them directly.

Add some glitter and they are good to go!

Birthday Thank Yous

Sisters...you gotta love them, right?  So it's two days before my nephew's birthday party and my sister calls asking if I can help with goodie bags.  She KNOWS, I just don't fill a bag with goodies.  I have to do something creative.  So of course I say yes even though I really have no time to do it.

He didn't have a specific theme so first I thought, Oh, I'll make some balloons or stars or something "boyish" and generic, but then I did some pinterest surfing.  (Is there another word for that??)  I saw these cute monster cards which required a lot of punched shapes.  I loved them!  But I also knew I wasn't going to punch individual circles for teeth.  So, as usual being inspired by this idea, I came up with my own bright, cute little monsters.

So, going directly to my pile of scraps, I cut two each of 2.5x3" plain cardstock.  (x 15 since I am making 15 of them - in other words...30 LOL).  So, I made different shades of blue, green, yellow, red, and pink.  I love that his favorite color is pink :).

Then I grabbed some scrap gray for the eyeball bases.  15 of 1" circles and 15 of 3/4" circles.  White scraps for 15  3/4"  circles and 15 1/2" circles.  Black scrap for 30 1/4" circles.  I wanted the eyes different sizes to give a quirky look.  I grabbed more scrap white cardstock and punch strips of scallopped edges.  These are for the teeth.

After assembling the eyes, and punching the teeth.  I grabbed half of the bases and used my Creative Memories circle cutter to create a rounded edge on them.  Assembled all the faces and then mounted them on the matching color base.

Ahoy! It's a Boy!

I cut out 40 boat cards to use as a baby shower invitation for my coworker.  Let me rephrase that, it's for a shower that my coworker is hosting.  This coworker shares my love of crafting and is such a sweetie.  She's going with a nautical theme - hence the title.

Here's a shot of two of the invites:

I used the Life's a Beach cricut cartridge and cut these sailboat cards using the "card" button.  I went through my stash and pulled as much light blue patterned paper as I could find.  Those I cut to fit inside the cards.  That was going to be it until I saw a random punched heart sitting on my craft table and thought, hey that would be cute on one of the sails.  So, I punched a bunch of little hearts using the red cardstock scraps.  As I'm punching the hearts, I realized that we would not be able to use a red heart on a red sail, so out came my little star punch.  I punched some stars using the blue scraps. 

To make sure everyone knew this is a baby shower invitation, I pulled my "baby" stamp and decorated the other sail.  The invites are 5 1/4" square.

Next I'll work on the nautical pieces to adorn the favors and decorations. 

I never used that "card" button on this cartridge.  But I love how easy it was to cut and decorate.  I'm going to have to look more closely at all those extra features on my cartridges.

I've been wanting to make one of these badges for awhile now and I finally did it.  We went to a 21st birthday party so i put this together on a bottle tag and hung it over a bottle of champagne.

I used scrap paper for the rosettes and the cocktail is from a stampin' up stamp set.  I made cocktail "candy" for a swap a long time ago and it fit perfectly with these paper rosettes.  The "Cheers" tag is made from two punches from SU! as well.

Invitations

These are invitations I made for my niece's birthday party.  I love my sis, but she always gives me short notice to get things done.  Thank goodness for the Cricut!  I used the Joy of the Season cartridge for the ice skate.  These invites fit a standard business size envelope.  So cute!  I hope the color comes out because they are bright pink, orange and a sort of lime green.

15 of them in three days.  Gotta love her!

I Found Photos!

I forgot my baby sis sent me photos of Jori and her stocking stuffers.  I made the snowman tags and sent the tags with the 1x8 bags (LOVE these bags!!!) and they stuffed them with Skittles.  I did mine with m&m's but you just can't go wrong with these bags.

Isn't Jori so cute with the feather in her hair?

Birthday Album

Here's some photos of the paperbag album I made this week.  I'm really into making rosettes and the pennant punch from Stampin' Up is awesome too.  I had a page with a short banner, but for some reason didn't take a photo of that one.
