Scrapbooking...Finally

My daughter and I went to an all day crop on Saturday and I finally started scrapbooking my huge pile of photos.

I followed a sketch from Stick It Down for this one.

The papers on the corners caught my eye so I used this sketch for the first page of our Universal Studios' trip.

Here are some closeups:

I fussy cut the feathers from the patterned paper, added the left over punctuations from a letter sticker sheet, quotes/words and splattered Black Licorice Color Silk.

The quote strips are homemade by typing random quotes in Microsoft Word and printing on a full sheet label. I am a little obsessed with small words/quotes right now. I love how they just add a little "something" on cards and layouts.

This trip was so fun. My daughter mentioned the night before that she wanted to go to Universal Studios but we said maybe on a free weekend, well we woke up the next day saying "let's go"! So we both called in sick and went on a random Monday. It's about a five hour drive so we left Sunday night and spent the day at Universal Studios on Monday. We both went to work on Tuesday. Crazy fun!

If you get a chance, click on over to Stick It Down and check out their sketch challenge. They have three challenges a month - two page layout, one page layout and card sketch.
