Strut Year V Title Page; SID Challenge

There are no pictures on this layout. Whoa. Have you ever created a layout without a picture? Since this is a title page for year five of my family's annual virtual marathon, I've actually made a few.

I used a sketch from Stick It Down for it. I loved the hexagons and thought it would be great to add more interest to it. Stick It Down drops three sketches a month - one page, two page layout sketches and a card sketch. You can find them on Facebook HERE.

Watch the video for the process.

I used a variety of pink, black and white papers and my Cricut for the hexagons. I also used my Cricut to make my own embellishment stickers. I'll be posting a video soon showing how I did this.

Going Old School; Cutting Out Photos

Remember that pretty much all we did was cut around the people in photos? Me too! And I haven't done that in years! Well there's a first for everything.

I love, love, love how this layout turned out. It's like what's old is new, but edgier!

What do you think?

Deadpool embellishment is print then cut from the Cricut.

Rainbow Crush, Coordinating Colors

This month on the Rainbow Crush YT Hop challenge, we had to use coordinating colors. I may have taken the easy route, but I used Red and Green.  So...you guessed it...Christmas!

See the links below for all the hop details.

My layout:

I created this layout using photo cards we received for the holidays. The title was created using my Cricut and the stamps are from my stash. They are from Stampin Up! and since they are still on wooden blocks, you can tell how old they are!

The paper collection is from My Minds Eye.

Be sure to check out my video but especially the other scrapbookers. Hop along, leave comments, and be inspired by all the different layouts.

Welcome to Rainbow Crush – a Social Media hop where we share projects that feature a color of the rainbow each month! This hop is hosted by Tara on her Facebook Group.  This hop takes place on the  2nd Wednesday of the month!  The color for July is to use complimentary colors on your layout.  You are only required to use 75%.

Designer Deep Dive YouTube Hop

This month's designer is Basic Grey. When I saw that, I knew exactly what paper collection I was going to use. I've had this Sweetpea Alyssa collection for years!

I've never used it and I honestly don't know why not.

Pretty in Ink Layout

When I couldn't find anything to embellish my layout, I created my own. Cricut Design Space has thousands of images, I knew I'd be able to create something!

I searched tattoo and ink for these images. I used Basic Shapes hexagon as the base for the images because the sketch I used had them. I think they gave them an edgier look too!

Added an offset to the hexagons and then flattened them to create print then cut images. I also cut hexagons in cardstock for a variety.

Here's the sketch by Scrapbooking With AnnMarie:

Watch the process video on my YouTube channel. If you're not already a subscriber, I'd love for you to subscribe. I post two videos a week. One is always scrapbooking and the other is whatever else I'm creating in the Command Center which you know is my craft room.

Scrapbooking With AnnMarie or Scrapbooking The Day Away is a great site if you love scrapbooking. It's an all things scrapbooking community! There are two memberships available, one is free and the other is a small monthly fee. Punches, Pocket Pages and the Fuse Tool; Oh No!

This spread of my granddaughter's first birthday includes punches, a pocket page and the Fuse Tool! Oh my!

I printed a lot of 4x6 photos for this event and instead of creating lots of layouts, I decided to use a pocket page and some flip flaps. This definitely saved time and space in my album. I also like doing this to add interest to my albums.

Check out my YouTube process video to see how to use the Fuse Tool and to see what else I did to make this spread special.

This video also talks about using flip flaps, paper scraps and/or ugly papers. Did you learn anything new from this video? Let me know!

Crush the Rainbow YT Hop; Yellow

It's that time again for the Crush the Rainbow YT Hop. The color for May is YELLOW. I had the perfect photos for this challenge and the layout turned out so cute. I mean...how can it not when the photos have these two cuties?

I used a sketch from Scrapbooking with AnnMarie/Scrapbooking the Day Away.

Be sure to check out her website if you're interested in all things scrapbooking including a great community of scrapbookers. There's a free and paid subscription available.

I also used my Cricut and SVG files from Printable Cuttable Createables for the embellishments and title. Can you believe I also did a little mixed media?

Watch the YT process video to see how it was created.

Summerween Layout; LTCCB

It's time for another six week challenge on the Love To Craft Challenge Blog (LTCCB). This blog welcomes all kinds of crafty projects as long as you link it up before the deadline.

For my project, I decided to create a scrapbook layout using SVG cuts from Printable Cuttable Creatables and my Cricut to make these cuts into Print then Cut items.

Have you heard of Summerween? It's definitely a new event and a lot of fun. This was our first year participating and we will definitely be continuing this summer event!

Now it's your turn. Link your project to the LTCCB website before the June 15th deadline.

Hard to Find Embellishments

I needed to complete these layouts from our trip to Columbia State Park and I knew I wouldn't be able to find embellishments for them. These layouts were a little bit of a struggle to complete until I realized I have a vast supply of scrapbooking things within Cricut Design Space.

I searched print then cut images that fit the theme and then printed a bunch of them to play with. Here they are after I resized them:

It was so much fun and so eye opening. I don't need to buy all the things. I have a great tool in the Cricut!

Watch the process video as I complete them. I'm telling you, if you're not using your Cricut for scrapbooking, what are you waiting for?

Print then Cut Title

I've made plenty of titles using Cricut and a lot of them using the print then cut function. I needed a custom title for this layout so I created one!

I could have used the regular cut function but when you have small words and/or fonts, it makes sense to print then cut it.

Watch this video for some basic directions.

I used a lot of random beer paper scraps and stickers to create this two page spread. The title is so perfect. I just love it!

Easter Sunburst Layout

I used most of my Easter/Spring patterned papers to create two 6x12 sunbursts for this two-page spread. Isn't it so bright and fun!

It took me a bit to figure out how to do it (watch the process video for a great tip), but once I did, it was so easy.

Once the sunbursts were done, all it needed was cute embellishments made from Printable Cuttable Creatables and the Cricut.

I used a cake topper that I made for 2024 Easter for the title. If you want to see more about that project, click HERE.

Will you try to make your own sunburst?

Go Bananas Layout; Scraplift Yourself

I am scraplifting myself with this two page spread of my granddaughter's first T-ball season. Do you do that? I mean why not?

It definitely makes it easier to complete a layout when you have a sketch in mind.

There are 8 pictures here. I think I'm mostly excited about using two washi tapes on it! The baseball paper is 6x12 on the left side and 4x6 on the right. I used Cricut cuts for the embellishments on the left side and to cut the circles.

This is a fun layout that really concentrates on the photos. I love that!

Rainbow Crush YT Hop; Mint Green

I wasn't sure if I was going to participate in the Rainbow Crush hop this month but luckily I found mint green in my stash! Here's my layout and my video:

I went through all my wooden/brown embellishments to find something that sorta went with the theme. This was a hard one! I did find some mintish enamel dots that coordinated but luckily those triangles gave this layout all the love it needed!

Month in Review; Retreat Freebies

I had so much fun putting together this Month in Review two page spread. All the items with the exception of the cardstock bases are from the Freebie Pile at a retreat that I attended.

I love the Freebie Table for two reasons, the first is obvious...free stuff and second, I like to contribute to get rid of my goods too. Win-Win

Each paper strip is 2x12 and I adhered them across the two bases. Most are crooked but there are a few straight ones. I don't know why someone got rid of these papers, they are so fun!

Once I added the strips and the photos, I created clusters to embellish. I used the Cricut to cut the FEB for the title on the left side.

Watch the YouTube process video to see how it was done!

Rainbow Crush YT Hop; Red

Welcome to Rainbow Crush – a Social Media hop where we share projects that feature a color of the rainbow each month! This hop is hosted by Tara on her Facebook Group.  Anyone is welcome to play along.  This hop takes place on the  2nd Wednesday of the month!  The color for February is red!

You can sign for the next month’s hop over on the The Paper Snob Community Facebook group:

https://www.facebook.com/groups/thepapersnobcommunity/

The challenge color is perfect for these photos I have of our 49er Superbowl Party in 2024.

I used two different sketches from Scrapping the Day Away and lots of red.

More pictures:

The two footballs were the negative from a project that I completed before. I just had a feeling that I would use them for something. I thought about adding a back layer, but for this layout, I felt like it looked fine without one.

I know this side looks a little plain, but I actually like it. I may go back and add some journaling strips, but I'm not sure.

The three patterned papers are 4x6.
