Thankful for You Layout & Video

We are nearing the end of 2020 and I’m still scrapbooking 2019! But I’m really, really close. I created this layout using the one page sketch at the Stick It Down challenge site. Click HERE to go to their site. Watch the process video here:

Here’s the one page challenge sketch:

And the layout I created:

As you can see, I opted to use 3x4 rectangles instead of the six circles in the sketch. I love the colors of this paper pad and was happy to be able to use it. Since my granddaughter was wearing a teal shirt, I felt it matched well. Most of the page was completed by using the elements in the paper pad. I did add some enamel dots and hearts. After I was done filming, I decided to add some gold string to the left side of the main photo.

Products Used:
Paper Pad: Spiced Pumpkin by Craft smart
Enamel Dots: Echo Park Imagine That!
Hearts: Rainbow Hearts by Fun Stampers Journey (Spellbinders)
Gold Color Shine by FSJ (Spellbinders)
Gold Thread from my stash

I love using different size photos to create interest on the scrapbook pages. These are 2x2”.

December Birthdays

I was asked to make some pj picks for a 2nd birthday party. They asked for cupcake picks but they were actually used on donuts!

This mama had a breakfast pj party for her son's second birthday - what a great winter theme! I love when families have birthday parties for kids born in December. It's a tough time of the year to have a birthday - speaking from experience.

I used my Cricut for the pj cuts and Christmas paper for the pj designs (it was a Christmas-themed pj party):

I used my cordless glue gun to keep all the layers together. I love this thing!

Gell Prints; Basic

Hi there, I received lots of comments on the gelli plate since posting my snowflake bow a few weeks ago. See that post HERE.

I decided to film a video about the gelli plate using basic supplies such as acrylic paint and stencils.

Starbucks Cups Obsession!

My daughter, daughter-in-law and I are obsessed with Starbucks Venti cups and similar cups! I was happy to see that my 15 year old niece added one to her Christmas list. I want to believe that she put that there just for me since she “likes” my posts on IG every time I post a new cup.

I used a rose gold vinyl for the images. I made the “Minnie” ears by layering a circle, wreaths and flower bundle from Cricut Access. I put the Mickey head as a template to lay down the different “circles” at the right size and location. Once I welded them together, I removed the Mickey head. This was a little tough to weed, but thankfully there weren’t too many flowers.

I love how this turned out. It’s so grown up and pretty.

TGIF; Thankful Friday #158

I know, it’s a little late, but I almost forgot to post this. Today is my birthday so this week, I’m thankful for another year to celebrate my birthday!

My daughter made these bracelets for me. Aren’t they fabulous! She’s getting pretty good at making these!

How about you...? What are you thankful for this week? Leave a comment and let me know.

A Cricut Christmas 2020

Can you believe Christmas is a week away? Our house barely feels like Christmas - we didn’t decorate as we usually do, but at least the tree is up. This year, I bought a new artificial tree and I’m not sure about it yet. It’s a 7 foot pencil tree. I knew it was going to be thin, but I thought it’d still have a triangle shape, but it’ll do.

I am working on some Christmas gifts today and just finished changing this:

To this:

I purchased the SVG from the Newmody.com site. They have a lot of fun SVG’s. I’m super excited about my granddaughter’s reaction when she sees this. The sweat jacket was only $12 at Walmart.

Super cute, right?

Stay tuned because I’m working on a super cute Starbucks cup for my niece!

12 Days of Christmas Tags 2020; Day TWELVE

The final day of the 12 Days of Christmas Tags 2020 series! I just HAD to make a tag that (fingers crossed) can only be used this year. Isn't it perfect!?!

I cut the TP rolls from my Cricut and used some punches to embellish them. Glitter markers and regular markers were used to change the look of the snowmen. Don't you love the masks on them? LOL
I handwrote "COVID Holiday 2020" on them.

12 Days of Christmas Tags 2020; Day ELEVEN

We're almost done with the series. I know I used this stamp set last year, but gnomes are such a big thing this year, I wanted to use them again. Click HERE to see last year's tags using these stamps. Click on the 12 Days of Christmas Tags label to see tags from the previous four years.

Here's what I did with them this year:

I used two different stamps sets for these tags. Although I used the Gnome for the Holidays set before, I never used Stay Cozy before. Do you do that? Ya gotta have it but then realized it's been sitting there unused for years...ugh! I can't be the only one...

Anyhow, I love how these tags turned out. I wasn't sure about the black base, but aren't these awesome! The white embossing was a perfect decision on these.

What I did:
Stamped, colored and fussy cut the gnomes
Stamped and heat embossed a scenery image to the black tags with white embossing powder.
Tore a small piece of glitter white washi to create a base for the gnomes
Stamped & cut the "to/from" tags down to size
Adhered the gnomes & to/from pieces to the embossed tags
Added ribbon and gold string to each tag. I only had a small piece of the checked ribbon so I cut those down about 1.5" and just tied them with the ribbon bundle.

Close Ups:

GIVEAWAY ALERT: Don't forget to leave a comment here, IG or FB for an entry into the giveaway. At the end of the series, I will draw a name and that person will win a set of all twelve tags.  Good luck!

If you are interested in purchasing any tags, send me a message. These tags are sold by 2020 set of 12 or individually.

TGIF; Thankful Friday #157

Happy Friday and Happy Thankful Friday! This week, I am thankful for Christmas lights. I may have mentioned this before, but I am sure enjoying all our neighbors' holiday decorations. It's hard to be in a bad mood when there are twinkling lights!

We did some decorating in our front yard this past weekend but may need to step up our game. Here are some photos of us at work. I thought it was pretty funny that we are all wearing gray & black. It looks like we're part of a team of hired workers.

Always gotta get a selfie in...
What are you thankful for this week? Leave a comment below and let me know!

12 Days of Christmas Tags 2020; Day TEN

Day 10 and only a few more tags to go to complete the 12 Days of Christmas Tags series. Today's tag was a mostly recycled project.

My lunch from Panera was in the beautiful paper bag and I had to keep it.

I cut out some basic triangles for Christmas trees out of it. The tag bases and stars were from a thin cardboard piece that was included with some paper that I purchased years ago. I kept it for so long and finally remembered that I had it. After cutting the stars with my Cricut, I used the crimper...yes, I said crimper to give these a corrugated cardboard look.
Splattered some watered down white acrylic paint on them & punched a hole at the top.
To add color to the tags, I used my stamp roller to add three different layers of stamped images. The first layer are holiday words in Cranberry Crisp ink, swirls & stars in Honey, and another layer of stars in Copper Metallic ink.

I pulled out tools that I haven't used in for..ev..er.

I glued the "trees" directly on the tags with some wet adhesive, added a ribbon, tied the star & bells with twine and punched the banner with a punch. It’s hard to see from the photos but the center of the banners are adhered with foam adhesive to give it more dimension.

GIVEAWAY ALERT:
I hope you've been following the series and leaving comments each day. At the end of the series, I will gather all the commenters, put their name for a drawing. The person picked will receive a set of one of each of the 12 tags in the 2020 series. Be sure to leave a comment every day for more chances to win.

If you're interested in seeing tags from previous years, click on the 12 Days of Christmas Tags label on the lower right.

Good luck and Happy Holidays!

12 Days of Christmas Tags 2020; DAY NINE

Day 9 tags are so fun! I wanted a different color scheme for these - Christmas isn’t always red & green. I used a stamp set by Bo Bunny to create my own patterned paper. Before I colored it, I made a couple of copies. I didn’t want to color in each image for this project, so I just used different ink pads with sponge dauber to add circles of colors. Then I cut six 3.5x2” tags.

Each tag has a rectangle on top for a shaker element. The shakers have a combination of sequins, beds and glitter.

I stamped six separate Santas and colored them in using the same ink pads & a water pen. Some of my Santas are a little darker complexion and I LOVE them!

Once the shakers were attached to the tag bases and the Santas were attached to the shaker bases, they were done. Then I realized that I didn’t have a spot to put the To/From. I used a circle punch to add to the ribbons on top. These tags also have an eyelet where the tag holes are.

GIVEAWAY ALERT: Don’t forget to leave a comment if you’re interested in entering the drawing. At the end of the series, I’ll put all the commenters in the drawing and pull a name. The selected person will receive one each of the 12 tags.

Inks I used (all from Stampin’ Up):
Tempting Tuquoise
Yo-yo Yellow
Melon Mambo
Glorious Green
Only Orange
Archival Black Ink - Black Licorice from FSJ

12 Days of Christmas Tags 2020; Day EIGHT

Happy Holidays! Today is Day EIGHT of the 12 Days of Christmas Tags series. Today's tags were made by layering wooden circle tags, corrugated cardboard trees and long/skinny tags. The long/skinny tags were covered with patterned paper. I also added a jingle bell to each of these.

They are simple, but fun! This one has a masculine feel to them.

Giveaway ALERT: Remember the giveaway at the end of the 12 days series. I will have a drawing and the winner will receive a set of one of each of the 12 tags created for this year's series. To enter the drawing, please leave a comment on the posts. Each comment is one entry.

12 Days of Christmas Tags 2020, Day SEVEN

Day SEVEN! We're past the halfway point to the 12 Days of Christmas Tags series this year. I hope you've been following along.

Today's tags coordinate with the star "bow" that I created for the BBTB2 DT submission. (Click HERE to see the post.)

This gift tag/card was created in Design Space. I duplicated the snowflake so it could be 3D. I also glued chunky glitter to the edges. The worst thing about glitter is glitter. Am I right? Sparkly but oh so messy.

GIVEAWAY ALERT: At the end of the 12 day series, I will draw a winner. The winner will receive a set of one of each tag created. To enter the drawing, leave a comment to each post. The more you comment, the more entries you will have.

To see more tags from previous years, click on the 12 Days of Christmas Tags label to the lower right.

I'm also entering these tags in the Double Trouble challenge for December Thing 3; Twisted Sister.
