I Put A Spell On You; Printable Cuttable Creatables

Hi there! This post is sharing a fun layout I created for the Printable Cuttable Creatables Design Team project. I decided to use the Put A Spell On You and the Spooky Potion Bottles cut files for the title and embellishments for the layout. We hosted a Hocus Pocus II movie party at our house with fun themed treats and everything.

I love the photo of me, DD and DIL in our Hocus Pocus shirts & spot on impressions!

I knew there were going to be a lot of small parts so I decided to change these from a cut file to a Print then Cut file. Check out my DT Blog Post to get step by step directions.

Once I knew the sizes, the layout was pretty easy to put together. As always, I have great tips on how to extend cardstock when you don't technically have enough.

TGIF: Thankful Friday #340

It's Friday people! And another week to be thankful. This week was full of October activity and I'm thankful that my family is all about it!

But I'm actually thankful for some self care this week. I had a gift certificate for a facial and finally used it.  Ahhhh...why oh why did I wait? It was so nice and so needed.  Have you ever had a facial?

You'll Float Too Upcycle

I know, I know...creepy title...yes it is. So last year, my daughter and I did ghost paintings which is when you purchase a thrift store or old picture and basically, ghost it. We wanted to do something like that again, but it's been really hard finding a good photo to upcycle.

If you want to see last year's painting, check out THIS YT short of the transformation!

Last weekend, she and I went to Goodwill and found this painting. I mean, just look at that red balloon screaming for a Pennywise clown redo. It's a little creepy as is, don't you think?

And here's the upcycle. I don't hate it but I definitely don't love it. It's a great "hang up once a year" project if you want to be creeped out kinda thing!

Rediscover Your Stash YT Hop; Orange

I love a good challenge and this YT Hop hosted by Sara Scraps with Rediscover Your Stash is a good one. The stash we're rediscovering is ORANGE. The color, not the fruit. Now, I love the color orange but it was a little challenging to use it.

I couldn't find any photos that had orange in them. But I did find this one with me wearing a burnt orange and my friend wearing a salmon colored shirt. It works!

The completed layout:

It is always fun to dig into your stash and that's why I like to participate in these type of challenges.

Products Used:
Music themed kit from Wild Whispers (no longer in business)
Orange patterned papers my scrap bin &
Enamel dots & hearts from 49 and Market

Be sure to check out my YT video but also all the other hop participants and it's always fun to read comments so feel free to comment on them too!

TGIF; Thankful Friday #339

Happy Thankful Friday! This week dragged by but I am thankful that I officially put in my retirement notice to my boss. It feels so good to officially do it!

So thankful for the opportunity to retire now. I know our purse strings are going to have to be tighter, but I'm so looking forward to the retirement life with hubby and granddaughters and the freedom that will come with it.

Thanks to PJUSD for 23 wonderful years and a pension so I don't have to rely on Social Security.

Iron Crafter Challenge YouTube Hop

Hi there! I'm participating in another Iron Crafter Challenge YouTube hop. This month's challenge item is Nuvo, Stickles or anything similar to the product.

I do have a few bottles of Nuvo Drops and some glittery bottles of Stickles and I pulled them all out to use on this hop.

The photos are from a day trip to a local roadside attraction and there's a whole "panning for treasures" area so adding gold stickles was so perfect! I'm not sure if you can see the gold in the photos, but it's there! The scrapbook papers & embellishments used is xxx from Simple Stories. Even though this is retro kit, it had both of the colors I wanted to highlight and a fun Good Vibes feel to it. In other words, it was perfect for these photos.

There are a lot of photos on this two page spread and I plan to place a smaller pocket page sleeve in between to add three more 4x6 photos and some journaling.

Here's a photo of the layouts:

Details of the Hop:

Fun Fold Card Featuring Lucy

Check out this fun fold card that I made featuring our favorite redhead, Lucy! I just love this stamp set by Scrappy Boy Stamps. I used a retro purse patterned paper from Dear Lizzie to match the retro theme of Lucy.

To make the card, you'll need a 4.25x11 piece of cardstock scored at 2.25 and 5.5 on the 11" side. You'll also need to turn the card to the 4.25" side and the 2.25" score up top. Cut a piece on both sides at 1" down to the score line.

The piece that flips is cut at 2.75x4.5"; Inside Pattern Paper = 5.25x4"; Front Left Side Pattern Paper = 2.5x4; Inside cardstock = 2.5x4.25" but can match the 2.75x4.5" side.

I stamped the Lucy image using black archival ink and colored with chalk pencils & a waterbrush.

Watch the YouTube process video to see how this is made.

Magic Potion Bottles; Printable Cuttable Creatables

My daughter asked for some assistance in decorations for the school library where she works. She's doing a Harry Potter theme so I uploaded these Magic Potion Bottles from Printable Cuttable Creatables. They are perfect for a not-so-scary Halloween decorations.

The largest bottle is 9" and the other two are 7".  I was able to get all three bottles cut out of one piece of cardstock by moving and rotating one of the bottles in the MAKE section before cutting.  It always nice to save some paper whenever I can!

Once all the pieces were cut, I like to lay them out before adding any adhesive. This was also a good time to add some glitter to the spider, bat and skull using a black and clear glitter marker.

It's hard to see the sparkle, but believe me it's there! I also used a white pen to add some more details on the bottle.

And there they are in their spot above the door!

Fun, right? When you're decorating the school library in a Harry Potter theme, you need all the magical stuff! These bottles fit right in.

When purchasing files on the Printable Cuttable Creatables website, use 3SONS15 for 15% off your order. She also has so many free cut files so take advantage of those as well!

TGIF; Thankful Friday 338

Happy Thankful Friday! This week I'm thankful for family time, big birthdays and home cooked meals. All that in one evening!

Hubby celebrated his 65th this week and I made enchiladas. Yum! I made sure we took a picture of Owo with his girls!

Little J didn't want to give up her pacifier but that's ok. She is a baby after all.

What are you thankful for this week?

I'm So NOT Bored Junk Journal Spread

I finally got into my Junk Journal to create this quick and simple spread. The original piece is a tri-fold junk mail advertising booklet. I saw the words "I'm so bored" and thought, I'm not. And even when I am, I can always spend time in the Command Center!

I glued under paper, pretzel and candy box wrappers to the original piece and then added some paint, gelatos, paint pens and a regular pencil to complete the piece.

So bright and festive especially compared to the pink/black color scheme of the original ad.

Month in Review Layout

I'm halfway through 2022 with this Month in Review layout for both June & July. As I mentioned before, Month in Review layouts are those one off photos that were taken during the month that don't necessarily warrant a full 12x12 layout.

I used the Family Fun 6x6 pad & embellishments from Ellie's Studio. I love the bright colors in this collection and felt it worked well with the variety of photos. I've had this particular set for many years so I'm not sure if it's still available.

The layout is mostly photos since there were a lot and I wanted to include them all but I think it still works with minimal journaling & embellishments.

I did some fancy layering & some paper saving tips are on the YT process video. Take a look!

There's a coordinating page that I'll place in the scrapbook next to this one. I didn't do a process video on this because I knew I couldn't. These are photos of three different hospital stays during June & July for Tony. This layout also includes some hidden journaling which is accessible by pull tab.

WCMD; Scratch Off Card

Happy World Card Making Day! Yes, there is a thing and I try to participate as often as I can. Afterall, I am a cardmaker!

I have a really fun card today. Not only is there a fun fold but there's also an interactive element. Can you say, scratch off card? Yes, that's exactly what this is!

I bought these scratch off stickers at least three years ago at the Expo from Pear Blossom Press (the same place I bought the lights) and I finally used them. The main reason why I used them was because I purchased this super cute stamp set, In Your Future from Pink & Main. They also sell the scratch off stickers on their website.

After I stamped and colored the images, I fussy cut them so I could add them to my card front & side flaps.

Watch the video to see how I created this card:

The card base is a 5.5x8.5" piece of cardstock and score it at 2", 3 1/8", 5 3/8" and 6.5".

Cut two pieces of patterned paper at 1 3/4" x 5 1/4" for the two outside flaps and two pieces of white cardstock at 2" x 5 1/4" for the card front & the back.

It's a simple fun fold card that folds flat when putting it in the envelope but will pop out when removing it. So fun!

I think the hardest part about this card is that I needed to find patterned paper that fit both a magic theme and a birthday theme. This colorful star paper was perfect for both themes! If you look really close, there are no purple stars in the paper, but it still matches perfectly!

TGIF; Thankful Friday #337

It's Friday and it's my DIL's birthday! This week, I'm thankful for her, Krystal. Not only is she a great addition to our family, she's a loving wife, amazing mother, kind & caring, hilarious and always down for the wacky stuff that my daughter and I come up with.

She's our GO TO for any and all technical problems, usually the getaway driver and an all around tough MF (shut your mouth IYKYK).

Happy Birthday Krystal!

Taco Stand Pop Up Rectangle Card

Ok, now I've seen everything! How fun is this Taco Stand? My friend and coworker loves tacos and when I saw this SVG from Lori Whitlock, I HAD to get it!

Now I'm usually one who just figures it out but I'm so glad that I watched a YT video on how to assemble this pop up rectangle card. I'm pretty sure I would not have been able to figure it out. It wasn't hard, it's just different!

The card folds flat so you can place it in an envelope. This is about 4.5x4.5" and I used a square envelope to put it in.

She absolutely LOVED it! Don't you?

Whimsical Painted Planter

You know I love to create things outside of the craftroom and this is a super fun one! I purchased a plain planter from my local grocery store for less than $10 (I wish I bought more but of course they were gone when I returned later) and you know I couldn't let it stay that way!

I had one plan in mind when painting the pot, but of course it took a completely different path and I absolutely love it!

You know the feeling when you finish a project and still think it needs something? Yup, that was me when I thought it was done. Then I added large and small polka dots! Now it was done and it looks great in its home.

Be sure to watch the YouTube process video for my thoughts and of course the process!
