FCCB #330; It's A Girl; Baby Minnie Shower

The Fantabulous Cricut Challenge Blog (FCCB) challenge theme is BABY and I just had to link these projects up. As you know, I am part of their Design Team and even though this is not my challenge week, that did not stop me!

I had so much fun making these centerpieces and banners/backdrop for my DIL's sister's baby shower. The good and bad thing about being crafty, is everyone wants you to help with their party. But...I love it and it's just another fun thing to create.

I purchased these Baby Minnie SVG files from Etsy (3 Blue Hearts) and they are so adorable! I cut the Minnie's for the centerpieces at 8". I used the Mickey Font, Mickey & Friends, and New Arrival cartridges to complete the decorations and probably every sheet of pink paper I owned!

These started off with 10 rolled diapers to create the "cake" base. I placed the sticks with clothespins attached to the center of each "cake" and then I realized that I had gold & white striped straws. So I put the sticks into the straws and ended up using two sticks each to give it more height. (The sticks are coffee stir sticks from Starbucks - yes, I'm one of those people who grab a few extra every time I go...don't tell me I'm the only one.) Since I extended the height, I added another rolled diaper to the center of the base. This is also where the Minnie's are attached.

Sheer and satin ribbons, pink curling ribbon, white tulle and pink & white paper shreds all add an extra "pretty" to each of the centerpieces. All of these "pretties" with the exception of the wide ribbons were things I had in my stash.

Each centerpiece has a Minnie image, an "It's a Girl" sign and an extra embellishment on the back of the sign. The square signs have a onesie (with a Minnie head) and bottle and the circle signs have a Minnie head with a "C". (Baby's name will be Carina.) And in front of each of them is a scalloped circle with a gold Minnie head adhered to the ribbon.

Thankfully I only had to make six centerpieces.

Backdrop:
Two banners...one with the baby's name cut out of Minnie ears and the other with "BABY" on onesies with gold hangers - lots of ribbons to make it girlie and three large cutouts of baby Minnie.

You can't really go wrong with pink, gold and all things girlie.
