Playing in the Command Center

As you know, I had surgery on my right hand. I cannot use it for another three weeks - at least, but I'm going nuts not being able to be creative. So...I decided to pull out some supplies and just play.

I had a lot of fun, created a video and encouraged you to challenge yourself to use your non-dominate hand to just add color to paper.

Here is a photo of some of the sheets. I don't know what I'm going to do with these, but I'm sure you'll see them soon! I did stamp the leaves and "thankful" for a card I'm hoping to make.

Check out the video here:

The stamps that I used & created can be found here: Bloom Arts

I used a large variety of ink pads from Stampin Up, Close To My Heart, Fun Stampers Journey (Spellbinders)

BBTB2 Fun & Games Challenge

The current challenge at the BBTB2 blog is Fun and Games. I feel like this could cover so many things but I created a scrapbook layout of our hiking adventures during the Covid summer.

I cut the title and cattails from Design Space, Happy Trails and cattail. The rest of the embellishments are stamps. This is a simple layout, but adding these cool cuts with multiple photos makes it fantastic!

Be sure to create a project using the Cricut and link it to the BBTB2 site.

TGIF Thankful Friday #200

Happy weekend! I know it’s late but being at home it’s hard figuring out the actual days. This week I’m thankful for the beautiful weather! I’ve been doing a lot of walking for two reasons…the first is because I can’t use my right hand due to the surgery so I can’t drive and the second is because we’re still participating in a virtual marathon!

I walked to get coffee, a haircut, and just fun play time to the park with my granddaughter!

What are you thankful for this week?

Cricut Project; Two Wild Cake Topper

Having only one functional hand has been rough but it is eye opening too. My granddaughter had a birthday party last weekend and although I had to cancel a lot of crafty projects, I was able to complete the cake topper!

I filmed and explained the process so check that out!

Instead of cutting the animals, I decided to flatten the images in order to print & cut them. It saved so much time and they turned out so cute!

And here it is on the birthday cake:

The key to a fabulous cake topper is a lot of dimension!

Sketch n Scrap Card Sketch #206 Challenge

November is here and it’s time for more sketches at the Sketch n Scrap challenge site.

Here’s the sketch and my card:

Isn’t it so fun and festive?!? I love this gnome stamp and the bright patterned papers I chose for the card. I think it’s perfect for a male or female recipient.

Now it’s your turn. Click here to get to the Sketch n Scrap challenge site and link your card before the end of the month!

Print and Cut Stickers

I’m out of commission since having surgery on my right hand but thankfully I was busy before. I’m still learning to make my own stickers using the Cricut.

I uploaded and flattened the image before adding a white offset to create a border around the image. Once that was done, I flattened it again.

I used an off brand sticker sheet to print the image. Then I measured and added clear vinyl to the inside of the border making sure to cover the images but not cover the border. Of course I didn’t take photos of the process!

When I accidentally purchased the “glass slipper “ vinyl, I didn’t know what I was going to do with it, but it’s perfect for this! It will make the stickers waterproof and durable.

I’m excited to do this more and more!

TGIF; Thankful Friday #199

I know it's late so instead of saying happy Friday, I'll say happy weekend! I've had an interesting week full of doctor appointments, surgery as well as the start of my family's first annual virtual marathon. We put it together to remember my nephew who passed away in 2019. Because of Covid, we didn't get to gather for his death or any services.

This week I want to thank all my family for embracing the marathon and really communicating together.  This is the whole idea of it.

LTCCB; November Challenge

November's here and it's time for another challenge at the Love To Craft Challenge Blog. The challenge theme is...Anything Goes. Click over to the challenge blog, get inspired by the DT projects and link your own project!

I made this fun card inspired by my monthly card kit and knew I needed to share it here.

This is called a floating card and it's so easy to make. I have a confession...the "acetate" needed for this card was a cut down face shield!

The small print is actually a photo of another project that I made. I ordered these super small sized photos to add to cards. Pretty neat, huh?

Now it's your turn, create something...anything...and link it to the LTCCB before the end of the month.

LTSCB: November Challenge

It's November and time for another challenge at the Love To Scrap Challenge Blog. The challenge theme this month is ..Anything Goes.

Be sure to link your project before the end of the month!

My project for the month is this super cute scrapbook layout. I was challenge myself to create a masculine layout with floral papers. I think I did a good job. I used some floral paper for two layers and then polka dot paper to anchor my photos and the embellishments. I think the blue and gray tones kept it masculine too.

Close up of the title & embellishments:

These are photos from Father's Day 2020. I used the Cricut to cut the title, stamped the camera and added some enamel dots for an easy one page layout.

Be sure to link your stamped anything goes project to the LTSCB before the end of the month!
