I've been creating things for the October 12th Fall Boutique I'm participating in but it's hard to know how much and what will sell during this time. Of course, I'm thinking Halloween, but do people buy Halloween crafts? I guess we'll find out.
I had these plain white boxes for awhile and knew one day I'd do something with them. Well, I wish I would have saved the other nine that came with them, but live and learn.
I just put together some random stuff and came up with these three different treat boxes. The paper is old Stampin' Up! paper from I think 2 years ago. The blank fringe I made with black crepe paper. I love fringe!
A place to showcase my crafts and talk about it...what's better than that? I hope to inspire and encourage others to create things for themselves, friends and family.

Over the Hill
I'm so excited to be asked to be a Guest Designer on the Decorate to Celebrate challenge blog. Click here to see more ideas and challenges.
I selected the "Over the Hill" theme to participate in since a lot of my friends and family are starting to reach milestone birthdays (including myself next year).
I made this "Over the Hill" crown for the 50th Birthday Girl to wear on her special day.
A giveaway crown from Burger King was used as the base. I selected two different black/white patterned paper and used my xyron to put adhesive on the back. The pink circle was cut using my Art Philosophy cricut cartridge (available through CTMH). The fringe was made by stacking black/white/pink crepe paper together and sewn down the middle. After it's sewed together, I cut strips every 1/4" or so (I really need to get one of those shredding scissors) and then use my hands to crinkle the fringe. The number "50" and the "Over the Hill" sentiment were also cut with the cricut.
These crowns are so much fun to make and by using the already prepared crown makes it so easy to finish! By the way, I always ask for two crowns every time I go to BK. They must think I have a couple of grandchildren, but only I know my secret...tee hee hee!

More Wreaths
You have probably noticed, but when I love something, I tend to go a little overboard making the same item in different ways. Well...I now have a new addiction...rosette wreaths. Here are two more that I've made in the past few days:
I'm bring them to work tomorrow to have a raffle with my coworkers. Boy, I bet they love it when I have my crafting addictions! I'm going to let the winner choose the wreath they want.
I'm thinking of hosting another craft night at my house but can't decide whether this would be a good project. Although the concept and ability level is beginner, there are a lot of steps involved.
For the brighter wreath, I used some Halloween cricut cut outs I received from a swap and stamped the sentiment from an old SU! set. Love that stamp! The words are embossed in black and then triple layered in colored cardstock.
The BOO banner was made using a pennant punch from SU! I love that punch. I use it all the time. The Halloween sign on the right side was from a class give away goodie bag I received during the Scrapbook Expo in Pleasanton three years ago. The brighter patterned papers were gifted to me from Rubber Paws in a Holiday paper pack. The cover was torn off so I'm not sure the manufacturer. The muted Halloween papers are from SU! I believe one maybe two years ago.

There are two wreaths here but I didn't feel like separating them from the wall - YUP lazy! |

Bwa Ha Ha Ha Ha
I scored these patterned papers about a month ago with a wreath in mind, but like everything else, it takes awhile to get my mojo working. I thought it would take forever to cut, fold and then create this Dracula inspired wreath but it didn't. It was so fun to make and now I'm on a mission to make at least a half a dozen more with a Halloween/Fall theme.
Now a close up:
My messy desk:
As you can see by this photo, I added some bats, glitter and finished off some of the rosettes with patterned paper circles. I also sprayed some rouge glimmer mist to the tag to simulate blood splatter. I love how it turned out! The Dracula stamp was gifted to me from Rubber Paws and the Bwa Ha Ha Ha stamp is a Martha Stewart set that I purchased on clearance about three years ago. The patterned paper is from Stampin' Up (at least two to three years old) and the bat punch is also a SU! purchase.
Hey, see my ATG pink gun? My fellow scrapbooker and friend Nancy spotted them on a clearance rack for only $10! She bought a bunch of them and and refills ($2 ea) and sold them to our group. I got the gun (which included two refills) and two more boxes of refills for $17!!! SCORE! Nancy is always finding great deals - just the other day she bought a Mickey and Friends cricut cartridge for $5 at a garage sale!! So jealous :)

A Card Making Spree...weee!!!
It seems like in most families, there are lots of birthdays in September! I went on a card making spree and it was a blast!
Close Ups:
And look...one stamp - three different cards:
If your birthday is in September...don't look too close because you're gonna get one of these in the mail!
All of the stamps except the layered rose stamps were gifted from Rubber Paws. I love her taste in stamps! So quirky and fun! The layered rose stamps are an old SU! set - still one of my favorite sets!

The mouse on the cork is pop dotted on the card for dimension. |

This retro poodle may be one of my favorite stamps yet! |

Boring to Shabby Chic!
So the other day I accidentally bumped and broke this shelf we had in our family room forever. Not very expensive to start with, but served it's purpose. We had sports photos of the kids and the shelves held sports knick knacks and old signed team baseballs. Basically, it was something that collected dust. So, after I bumped and broke it, I took everything off, slid out the shelves and was ready to toss it. Then for some reason, I took an other look at it and thought, hey, I think I can upcycle this to use for my craft shows. So here's a before photo...
The shelves slid through those thin openings. 8x10 photo frames fit in the squares but you can see on the left side where the wood pieces that should divide those frame areas were broke off.
After:
The top left and second right will be used as Dry Erase Boards and the second left is chalkboard paper. We can write notes, prices, etc on them. I still need to make coordinating clothespins for the chicken wire panel and we decided to attach clips in case we want to hang items or samples or maybe even a basket to hold more goodies.
I absolutely LOVE how this turned out! I cannot wait to use it and show it off! We have another sign that says "Yes, you can make it but will you?" that I will place in one of these frames. The one we have now is in an 8x10 horizontal frame so I'll need to change the direction. We can switch the patterned paper for Christmas when the time comes too.
I not only love this piece but am shocked that I actually had a project and finished it in the same month. That NEVER happens! LOL
We had to go out and purchase the paint and chicken wire, but total cost was less than $20.

Our business sign is too large to fit in a frame, but it's perfect leaning on the side. And color coordinates perfectly! |
There is a shelf behind the chicken wire, it does not belong to this. Kinda hard to take a good photo when there's no backing! |
Love! |
