Here's the layout that I did for the only two pictures I have from Robert's graduation. Let's see, I used scrap graduation papers for the background pieces. The graduation garland is made from old Mrs. Grossman's stickers that I attached to some navy blue floss and then adhered using dimensionals from SU!. The white gown embellishment in the right corner is my own creation that I had made for a swap a long time ago.
A place to showcase my crafts and talk about it...what's better than that? I hope to inspire and encourage others to create things for themselves, friends and family.

More Layouts
I've been busy scrapbooking using sketch challenges from different websites. This one is from Scrapfit.blogspot.com sketch challenge #69. This website is so fun. It's geared to look like a fitness website and it is to flex our scrapbooking muscles!

Happy Father's Day with micheLADA love!
The top two photos are of the gift set I made for Kenny for Father's Day. He's a beer drinker and I thought this would be kinda fun. I altered a drink carrier from Jack In The Box by stamping it at random with a beer mug stamp (Stampin' Up), a citrus stamp (Stampin' Up), another stamp that says "Oh Boy...this is good beer" (don't remember where I got this one), and a stamp that states "Glad Your My Dad" (also from SU!). I also used these same stamps for the tissue paper. The two limes in the front are from my Just Because Cricut cartridge. I inked all edges of the carrier and tied some ribbon through the handle. Filled it with a bottle of Clamato juice and a 40 oz. bottle of Budweiser plus two limes. For those of you who don't know, mix these together and you get a Michelada. Some people like to add some Tobasco sauce, but I know that Kenny doesn't so I didn't include it. This is like a Bloody Mary but with beer instead of vodka (??) Kenny loved it and enjoyed it later in the afternoon.
The Cribs!
Carly and I went to see the Cribs yesterday in San Francisco and they ROCKED! Here's what I made to wear to the concert. This is another one of the wristlets I made out of a toilet tissue roll. I got a lot of compliments on it. I was this close to giving it away to this woman behind me in the bathroom line. She was so cute with her English accent and calling the bathroom the loo. :)
And here is Carly and I ready to go...
We love this band!! Check out their official website here. The concert was great; the venue was great (Great American Music Hall); and the music...awesome!

Happy Anniversary Layout Sketch
I'm on a roll with the Let's Scrap sketches. This is a new sketch for this week. I still need to scrap all those photos from my parents' anniversary party and here's another one.
Here's the sketch:
This will be page one of the album since it's got the invitation and some of the party details as far as decorations, etc. I'm looking forward to working more and more on this album.

Floatin' Around
I am participating in a monthly scrapbooking kit swap and I'll be honest, usually I oohhh and aahh and love the kits but haven't really done much with them. Well this month, I received a really cute bright beachy kit that had some Create a Critter creatures. My sister brought me some photos of her daughter to scrapbook since she's so behind (uummm...my niece is 7 and her scrapbooks barely have her coming home from the hospital...so a little behind is an exaggeration).
Anyhow, this kit was perfect for some Hawaii pictures of my niece. I got the sketch from Let's Scrap. It was so easy and was put together quickly. Here it is:
Jori is such a cute subject to scrap!

June Mini Album Challenge
Hey, Pajama Girls, here's my June Challenge album:
Can you guess what it's made of? Toilet paper rolls...!
I know the photos are really dark, but actually the photos really are dark. I found a roll of film in my drawer that was the 110 size, do you remember those days? Anyhow, I took a chance and developed it and they had the greatest photos of my boys on there. There were these great pictures of Derek and Kevin where Derek is just totally crackin' up. There were photos of Derek's first steps and some of all my nephews when they were little. Seeing the kids just smiling and laughing will always make me smile so I thought I'd add them to this little album.
First I smashed the toilet paper rolls flat and then painted them using some Making Memories scrapbooking paints. Now I know why I never used them. This paint was like mud. But the colors matched the paper perfectly. After letting them dry, I punch two eyelets in each left end. Then I inked and glued paper to each "page". The paper is from Prima Marketing, Inc. Nursery Tales. I didn't do much else except stamp some random words and images and added strips of paper and ribbon. Binded it by used two binder rings and added tons of ribbon. There are pull out tabs for each roll but right now they are blank. I'll add some quotes to them.
This was a great June challenge posted by Nancy in the Paper Pajama Girls group. Woo Hoo!

Scrapbooking Layout
This layout was inspired by the sketch challenge at Let's Scrap. This site has weekly sketch challenges and I keep telling myself to use these sketches, but this is the first time I actually did it within the week. This is my niece, Jori who plays softball. I used some Cricut cutouts from a swap that I participated in awhile ago and then cut out some stars to add some other color. Jori is so cute behind the plate. Her mama, my sister Marlene, used to be the catcher when we played softball back in the day. My sis finally decided to give me pictures of Jori so she can actually have some pages done in her scrapbook. I almost forgot to mention, I Versamark stamped some softballs using the Let's Play Ball stamp set from Close To My Heart.

Using Scraps Challenge
Earlier I posted that I wanted to challenge myself to use scraps. Well, I referred to this link and used her idea on layering paper strips and using these for cards.
Here's what they started off like:
One is pink with some red scraps and one a fall color variety and this bright color theme scraps from a paperbag album I made a long time ago.
Here's some of the cards I made:
Closer look...
and more...
I used a lot of candy from swaps that I've participated in over the years.
Here's some with the other color themes:
Closer look...
I colored these images that I downloaded from Bugaboo Stamps website. I haven't downloaded any in a long time, but her images are so cute!
Anyhow, I used lots of scraps (hardly a dent though) and lots of card candy that I've also been storing up. I love how simple they are but they look like it took so much work.
Fun!!

I Won a Ribbon!
The Apricot Fiesta was this weekend and I submitted my canvas heart in the Art Show. Guess what??? I won a First Place ribbon in the mixed media group!! Pretty cool!
When I went to pick it up about an hour ago, the Art Show organizer asked me if it was for sale. Geez...I never gave that any thought so I looked over at Kenny. He just shrugged his shoulders so I said sure. Then I had to come up with a price and I hate that part. Where was Carly (aka my manager and daughter) when I needed her? I didn't know what to say, so I said $40.Hey, hey, hey, I just made $40 bucks! She's calling me tomorrow so we can get together. So I decided I didn't want to sell after all. I'm sort of proud of myself and want to keep this one in the Command Center. Right now, it's back in my cubicle at work...ribbon and all !!
Here's the photo with the beautiful apricot colored first place ribbon!
UGH! That's me after 2 1/2 days of nonstop eating and 2 days of drinking in the sun. Now, I'll join Kenny for a nap. He's been snoring on the couch for at least 45 minutes now.
By the way, this year's Fiesta was one of the best in a long time. We hung out all day yesterday with our buddies, Rosemary and Albert and laughed all day long. And the fireworks display was outstanding!
Good Times - Good Friends!
