A Little Love

I'm in the Valentine's spirit this year.  I made this little 2" square box to put a little something for my Valentine.  I haven't figured out what yet, but I was thinking some candy kisses.

The patterned paper is from the Tim Holtz line paper pad that Carly gave me for Christmas and the sticker is from K&Company (also a gift from Carly).

The box was cut from the Cricut using the Tags, Bags, Boxes and More cartridge.

Valentine's Day Already?

It's that time again.  My friends and coworkers are asking for a craft day to create a Valentine's gift so I'll start going through some ideas.  In the meantime, I have been rearranging the Command Center and found this old candy heart that Kenny must have given me who knows how many years ago.  So...I kept it for a reason to UPCYCLE!  And now it's time:
I'm not exactly sure what I'm going to do with it now that it's made.  I guess I'll put some chocolate goodies and give it to Kenny or who knows, this may go to my friend Carole who is my Valentine Swap partner.

Products:
Red paper scraps
pearl beads
Black seam binding ribbon
metal spinner (Tim Holtz)
old ticket
stamps:  Love and Cupid ($1 bin at Michael's from a few years back)
portion of white doily
Tattered Angels pearl glimmermist

Cheers!

I've been wanting to make one of these badges for awhile now and I finally did it.  We went to a 21st birthday party so i put this together on a bottle tag and hung it over a bottle of champagne.

I used scrap paper for the rosettes and the cocktail is from a stampin' up stamp set.  I made cocktail "candy" for a swap a long time ago and it fit perfectly with these paper rosettes.  The "Cheers" tag is made from two punches from SU! as well.

Easy project!

Chalkboard Craze!

I cut these tags using my Art Philosophy Cricut cartridge.  Used a variety of stamps and embossed them using white embossing powder then stamped a little bit of a shadow over them to make a chalk-like affect.  I added some ribbon and buttons and then wrote in a little "note" on each one.  Of course these can be wiped away and a new message can be written on them.

I thought these would be so cute on a bulletin board, gift box or used to leave a cute little message to someone.
My favorite is the swirl tags but second is the birthday pig!  HA HA HA

Durham Family Photos

Don't you love the tin soldier on this page!  It's from the Joys of the Season cricut cartridge and cut because of a Big Cricut Candy swap that I'm hosting on SCS.

I can't decide if I will add a face to my soldier.

Retired

I had these photos since October.  The ol' Las Palmas gang showed up to wish Ramona a retirement farewell at El Rosal.  Everyone of the aides showed up except for Ofelia who we missed dearly.  It was such a great night and I know Ramona loved everyone showing up.  I accepted a challenge on Let's Scrap to do a monochromatic page with just a punch of an additional color.  Here's my layout:

The blue paper is from old CTMH coordinating papers.  The butterflies are from an old Stampin' Up punch and the title and journaling box are cut from the Art Philosophy Cricut cartridge.

Gosh I love these ladies and miss them so much.  Yup, I'm one of the staff members who left the school.

Chicken Wire

I finally finished these frames!  I bought these frames a long time ago.  One at a thrift store and the other from a yard sale at least two years ago.  My sister gave me some chicken wire she didn't need and I knew I was going to use it for these frames.  Well, I went to look for the staple gun and of course I couldn't find it.  I borrowed one from a coworker and friend and finally finished them.  These photos turned out horrible, but then again, how do you take a photo of an empty frame with chicken wire inside?  I have many decorated clothespins that are just waiting to hang some photos, notes or whatever on the wire!
As you can tell, one of the frames in horizontal and the other is vertical.  They are about 16x20" or bigger.  I haven't measured them.

I'll take a photo later when they have some fun stuff hanging from the wire :)  One frame I bought for $3 and the other $2 so for both I spent $5!  It doesn't get much better than that!!

Another Giant Holiday

Here's another layout that I created using a challenge sketch at Let's Scrap.  For some reason I'm having a hard time loading on their website so it may not get there, but I like how it turned out.  Now that I'm looking at it, I may add something to the left lower side of the title.  It looks a little boring LOL

When the Giant's won the World Series in 2010, everyone received some sort of Giant gift so we needed to continue the tradition for the 2012 World Champs!

Here's the sketch that I followed:

Arkansas

My cousin Terry sent this photo to my sister, Caroline earlier this year and I finally got around to printing it and scrapping it.  The two little boys are my Uncle Gene and my dad.  Like the caption says, it's probably around 1939 to 1940.  I followed the sketch below on Let's Scrap.  Click here to go to the website.  I find it easier to start a layout with a sketch and they have great ones on this website.

Layout Sketch Challenge

The floral back ground circle is from the Tim Holtz paper pack I received for Christmas.  The birds and labels are from K&Company.  The knitted flowers are from a Whimsey Jar swap I was in a few months back.  I believe it was from Stampingooddeeds (Susan) from SplitCoastStampers.  And the birdcage was from my friend Ann Marie also from a swap.  I need to get more of these since I just love the bird cage and they are so popular right now.

I think I'm going to frame this one.  I just love the vintage feel and plus I miss my grandma so much!

Great news!  This layout was selected as IOTW (Inspiration Of The Week) at Let's Scrap.  It's nice to know that I'm not the only one who really liked this layout!  THANKS!

Celebrate World Champions

Kenny received the DVD of the 2012 championship series for Christmas and after watching it I remembered I still needed to scrapbook the final photos of the parade.  I entered this layout in the current Let's Scrap challenge.

I know there's a lot going on, but I really wanted to put a lot of photos on the layout.  I already did six double layouts and probably can do one more since I did not include all my photos.  I may do some sort of pocket layout.  Thanks again to Caroline and Carly for encouraging me to go.  It was AMAZING!

Click on the Let's Scrap link above to see the original sketch and more layouts for inspiration.

I used a lot of different papers and some random SU! stamps.  I even embossed the word "CELEBRATE" in the title.  The two arrows were cut using my Cricut and the Art Philosophy cartridge at 2 1/2".

Journals, Journals and More Journals!

I'm pretty sure I told you I was on a creative mission these last few weeks.  I have to go back to work tomorrow after two weeks off.  I'm both happy and sad.  Sad because I actually have to get up early and get dressed and leave my house but sad because it's so nice laying around doing nothing.

One of my friends asked me to make some journals for her.  She plans on having her children write something they're grateful for each day.  I love that idea and plan on doing that myself.  Starting today...the first day of 2013!

I had some journals already made but made five more in the past two days.  Here's some photos:
I didn't feel like taking one photo of each journal so I tried taking a group shot.  Of course I couldn't get all of them in one shot.  I used a lot of "candy" that I have acquired over the years.  I love making these journals!  They make such great gifts for all ages and both male and female.
